He might just get kicked out, that's the best case scenario for him at least. I think it was Enson Inoue that said that japanese cops hates dealing with certain foreigners, which doesn't mean blacks, and will try to take the easy way out if possible. Otherwise they would have to use their engrish and bring shame on their ancestors. He didn't say it that way but that's the gist of it.
No personal experience, but I've heard they put up with a fair amount of gaijin bullshit if you stay in the tourist areas but if you start fucking with locals they have zero tolerance. Also even if they ultimately decide just to kick you out, they generally make it as unpleasant as possible without straight up causing permanent injuries.

At the very least this ape is looking at some very not fun days and nights.

He can probably expect sitting in a cell for weeks as part of very slow interrogations process as I understand it. Then they'll probably kick him out.

The Japanese justice system is pretty crazy. You can be held without bail in pre-trial detention for 23 days. During that entire time, you will not be allowed to talk to anybody. You have the right to a lawyer and the right to remain silent, but police are allowed to interrogate you that entire time without your lawyer being present.

After the pre-trial detention, if you have not confessed yet, you may be denied bail. This is very common among foreigners who have been charged with crimes.

If you have still not confessed, you may spend months, maybe even a year, in jail without a trial.

If you are a foreigner and are convicted, you will be immediately deported after serving your sentence. After you are deported, you will be banned from the country for life and will not have a chance to appeal.

Furthermore, Japan has a rehabilitative justice system, so crimes often has shorter prison sentences and lower punishments than in the Occident.

All these factors encourage confessions, so Japan has a very high conviction rate.

Even if they just want to kick you out, they want that confession so they can ensure making it permanent.

It is the last place in the civilized world short of Singapore you want to go and literally insult the country itself while committing crimes. I hope the U.S. embassy says fuck this guy and lets them do whatever they want.

The US embassy can't do anything other than make sure police aren't treating you differently than a native citizen.

If anything, the Japanese police have treated this guy with kiddy gloves because he was a black foreigner who was livestreaming himself. If he was a Japanese citizen, they probably would've picked him up long ago.

yeah they might be an advanced city, but IIRC, Singapore is the place where you cant criticise religion or something right? they had so much inter-religious violent crimes they had to make a saw that noone could criticise eachothers religion or something
i remember because Amos Yee got pulled up with this law, and he even copped a big slap from a very angry Singaporean when he got out on bail, it was very VERY funny, video below
Somali will likely get released, id like him to get the Japanese POW treatment but nothing ever happens to these IP2 people, will have to wait and see

Japan should run with the IP2 shtick and allow people to TTS Johnny Somali’s incarceration livestream while he tries to negotiate Japanese prison gang affiliations.
Genius! They already push the boundaries everywhere else. Let them turn criminals into income.

He has been charged with criminal trespass on private property. If the Japanese decide to maxx him out, it's 3 years and 50,000 yen. Let's see how he handles being a zoo exhibit for a while.

Controversial Kick streamer Johnny Somali has been arrested in Japan following months of harassing locals and other streamers.

Johnny Somali was arrested in Osaka after reportedly breaking into a hotel construction site last month on August 30.
During a live Kick broadcast on September 21, Johnny began streaming while being followed by a police officer, explaining to his viewers that the cop had been on his tail for thirty minutes.
After entering a convenience store to get a drink, Johnny was apprehended as multiple officers showed up and placed him in handcuffs, all while his stream continued.

Johnny Somali arrested after months of controversial Kick broadcasts

According to Sankei News, Somali, whose real name is Ismael Ramsey Khalid, investigators arrested him for breaking into the planned construction site of a hotel.
While on site, the streamer reportedly kept screaming “Fukushima,” referencing the major nuclear disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
In the past few months in Japan, Somali has frequently made headlines for his antics, upsetting locals with racist outbursts and even being attacked for his remarks.
Somali was briefly banned on Kick for his actions, but was allowed back on the platform just 72 hours later.

The arrest comes just days after Twitch streamer Meowko was harassed by Somali, resulting in her calling for other sites to permanently ban him.
Somali has yet to update fans on his arrest and it’s not clear if he will be allowed to remain in the country or what punishments he will face from Japanese authorities.

Like this dude I suppose doesn't understand that to JP people he's just a Kokujin and that's literally every black person that visits Japan. They're like exotic zoo animals to them. They gawk and stare at them cause it's like seeing a wild animal walk down the street.

Jino, Somali's current side kick in Japan, has told his stream that the police contacted him
the police wanted to know where he was, and told him to turn himself in
Jino in this video stating he will be turning himself in
he states theres no point running, theyre already looking for him everywhere, and wont stop calling his phone
