i took a moment to think about it, and it might genuinely just be groupthink
not only in the simple sense of "its popular therefor i should like it too" middleschool peer pressure, but also in the more advanced retarded way of "this is something that [people i ideologically align with] enjoy, i too will enjoy it in order to signal my allegiance to them"

I agree that its cute but that still doesnt quite justify the cult-like obsession some people have with them. Like imagine doing that for any other less famous stuffed toy.

Mf cut open a giant stuffed plush animal, added a zipper, called it a fursuit, and headed over to the nearest furcon without even cutting eyeholes.
Pretty sure this is the only murrfursuit I've ever seen deliberately designed to make the wearer blind.

I hate to admit I looked up the plush company, but I did. They make the plushies with zippers built in already (for "easy unstuffing/to clean") and they're human-sized. I doubt they didn't expect SOMEONE to do this. I'm shocked they don't seem to come with a...hole option. Also those things cost around $900 (or $2500 for even larger ones). So it's not much different than a cheap-end fursuit, albeit better quality than some sub-$1000 suits around. Not counting being blind.

You can get full suits for sub $1000?

Anyhow... I did some digging and the guy behind it was a furry going by the yt channel
