Idk, Gruesom doesn't sell as well outside of heavily fortified districts, because the video and media about Californian cities like San Fran becoming dystopian shitholes has escaped the "well that's just Faux news!" containment. Most people will only deny their lying eyes to a certain extent but it becomes inescapable when there's viral videos daily of people looting stores in broad daylight.

I've never seen any reliable polls about a challenging party's nomination winner this far out. Not from GOP/Dems at least. Around this far out before 2016 Ann Coulter of all people was the only one that got it right. It's always been hard to predict really until the primaries actually start.
The only unusual thing about this one is I've never seen the incumbent party being so hard to predict. I mean Joe could literally drop dead on the stage at any moment now, or start screaming about negroes chasing him or anything. Then again, I thought he'd die or be 25h'd in his first 2 years and he keeps going.
ETA it's also bizarre that Trump is so insanely far ahead. Like I've seen mentioned a few times, I hope the GOP knows if they go all in on this it could backfire if he's jailed or whatever. I thought DeSantis was a great 2nd choice, but the guy just can't run a national campaign and he's so low energy.

There is something really funny about the fact that Joe Biden could literally slip up and call a black man a nigger to his face in an interview and he would still get 90% of the black vote in 2024 (He got 92% of the black vote in 2020) . The media would fully cover for him and it would be forgotten in a months time. No amount of pandering from the right-wing will ever win back the black vote. Nah, gotta save the military for that war with China they've been building up to for a few years now. More Trump indictments are more likely since they can just fortify again and keep him locked up for the rest of his life, it seems when you analyze everything that's there. Biden is too useful as a puppet for TPTB to step down; Kamala taking over was now or never a few years ago.

With the generally horrid conditions of CA being pretty much a meme at this point to even the most politically uninitiated normies, I'd like to think that this country wouldn't be that suicidal (gimme all the rainbows). But you're right- the women will absolutely vote en masse for him, thanks to his nice hair, charisma, and especially due to the fact that he makes their ginies tickle. Plus, they'd use his young age to try and portray him as "fresh" in an effort to formulate a contrast between him and "old man" Trump.
There is definite reason to be worried, though.
This shit right here really makes it look like he's gearing up to run, or at least try to keep things as favorable as possible if he's parachuted in to replace the ailing Biden. He knows that signing this bill (which will get passed anyway due to CA's supermajorities) would absolutely poison him to voters in most of the country. We saw that with Youngkin in VA. So he's trying to entice moderates by tacking closer to the center, with the intention of going full communist upon winning. Looks like presidential aspirations to me.

Legitimately surprised Hagedorn switched on this. He's been increasingly critical of the COVID policies but still was largely a Dem in all aspects. Seeing him swap on this came as a surprise.

My grandfather sometimes addressed me that way without thinking. Surly rednecks sometimes did it during hostile interactions when I was older. But I'm white so I didn't think to chimp out or nail myself to the cross over it.
