And I don't think that Ashley knows she will die soon if not treated. Generally, eating disorders patients are known to show extreme levels of denial; for her, she is beautiful and somewhat healthy. I think that deep down, she knows something is wrong, but she shrugs it off and continue with the denial.

It's like when morbidly obese people like the Slaton sisters say " Who DON'T have high blood pressure?" they think it's normal. Also whenever they get sick they never ever blame their weight, its always some other mystical affliction that has nothing to do with it somehow. Denial.
 
This is like that russian chick who chose to live off the suns light for food.

She's apparently beyond help now. At this point you more or less have to be hospitalized and have a feeding tube shoved up your nose and it supposedly takes months to slowly get yourself up to a weight where you can even eat something.
