Gee, I wonder what else that quote could apply to...

Just when I think I can't be surprised any more about how fucking massive his ego is, he tweets"I am one of the best Peggle players in the entire world" at the company that makes the game. Is Wu still mentally 14 years old?
Why do you think he isn't the best player in the world? He's probably put in more time to the game than anyone else in the world.

Rev 60 was never a 'great cause'. It is Wu's masturbatory fantasy given digital flesh. Actually, if I come to think of it, it isn't even that: I am pretty sure Frank is responsible that Revolution Shitty turned out to be a SciFi story and didn't become "Socially Unconscious: The Game".

I'm going to give Frank a mild bit of credit there.

Socially Unconscious would have made a shit game, even a visual novel would be fucking dull. Adapting the characters to a bad Mass Effect ripoff wasn't a bad idea, since the change in setting actually allowed for a more interesting interactive experience.

To do a @Jaimas here, it was a decent attempt at salvaging a shit story stock and making a decent soup out of it.

Unfortunately, the writer was John, and as we've seen from Election Eve (from which R60 derives it's actiony elements), his writing is so bad it can't be an unintentional masterpiece with effort like the fanfic "Doom: Repercussions of Evil" (an infamous crap story with an interesting twist that could be easily turned into solid gold by better writing), and it still manages to fail hard, even though Frank obviously tried to inject sci-fi tropes to hang flesh off the emaciated skeleton John gave him to work with.

Unfortunately for Frank, he was given the task of drying up the Pacific Ocean with a post office blotter, and R60 is what it is today.

Wu has a panel tomorrow, talking about video game scripts. Both Frank and Bri have had a few panels/ events already at Worldcon but they don't seem to have bothered mentioning them at all, which is a bit unusual.

MidAmericCon II says the following about its panels:

Our program will consist of lively, knowledgeable, articulate people interacting with each other and with the convention community on a variety of fascinating subjects. Rather than being a stagnant reflection of the past, it will reflect on the issues the have brought us to the current day to help us determine where we are now and where we might be going in the future. Although we will include some traditional panel items we will also seek to explore diverse topics in new and thought-provoking ways.

The con com probably should have given federal and state statutes that cover false advertising a closer read before making these claims and then scheduling notorious flimflam man John Walker Flynt to speak. Either that or change "lively, knowledgeable, articulate people" to "zombielike, ignorant, snarling buffoons."

Here's to hoping the Puppies sweep the Hugos.

EDIT TO ADD: And if you go to his speaker's page, Flynt/Wu has refused to provide a photo of himself for the convention's use. It's kinda funny that the default picture is of a headless man.

Also Wu sperged some more about competitive Peggle, theirs more but the only interesting part is what started it: Wu trying to get Vice Gaming's attention. (Read bottom to top)

What happens when serious goobergate threats force them to cancel?

Wu's not gonna talk with other people, he's gonna talk over them.

Well gee whiz, Wu! Maybe that's because they started out as books for kids and slowly got more complicated and darker as they went along to match the readers growing up. So you've literally been complaining that some books written for kids didn't handle mature adult themes.

It's never coming out on Steam. She can't back-channel her way into getting the bad reviews down and the refund system lets everyone try it out for free.
In that scenario, the few Kickstarter backers that still pay attention are going to eat her alive. I'm not sure if she can backchannel (or delete) away angry comments from the Kickstarter page, publicly visible to anyone who happens to view it.

Why do you think she stopped updating the Kickstarter? It's the only way to make sure less people complain by not drawing attention to it.

On the other hand, Kiva Bay took $32,000 from people and proceeded to spend the next year smoking pot and complaining on Twitter. Her backers don't seem to care.

Wu can come up with some fake story about harassment. Maybe blame Steam for not being able to protect her. Most will eat it up and she can just ignore the rest. Heck, the majority of backers will probably browbeat any who actually ask for a refund.

Aww, come on, Wu. Don't drag Stephen King through the mud like that. He deserves better than being compared to Harry Potter.

On the other hand, Kiva Bay took $32,000 from people and proceeded to spend the next year smoking pot and complaining on Twitter. Her backers don't seem to care.

To Kiva's credit, she didn't constantly go on Twitter bragging about how she's The Godzilla of Art or The Most Harassed Woman In Art, or how she's got more experience in MS Paint than most people. She also didn't make up imaginary staff members, chimp out on TV interviews looking like a homeless cat lady, or post photos of her husband screaming at food that looks like it was pre-chewed.

That thing that worked most in Kiva's favor is that she suckered the right targets. Feminists will throw money at other feminists if the person begging has a vagina, quality of the product be damned. They also let Kiva's lack of delivering on her promises slide, because confronting her or asking for a refund means that a woman broke a promise and scammed them, which stomps on the "women do no wrong" narrative. So they just suck it up and accept it for the good of the cult's image.

Meanwhile, Wu went after gamers, who don't suffer fools gladly (at least not from someone like Wu). John promised a product, so by God he better deliver a half-way decent game or he's never going to eat Hot Pockets in this town again. There will be a flood of bad Steam reviews, demands for refunds, and YouTube videos calling his ass out for failing to deliver or releasing shoddy product. That's why Wu is stalling, because either way, John loses.
