Whatever the case, don't bring your partner's baggage to the table if it's a relationship worth keeping. It only does a disservice to both people and it's rather important to respect your partner's privacy and dignity.

To be fair to Nick here, I can see how he'd struggle with this. Kayla doesn't appear to be the sharpest tool in the box, and it's not as though she's out toiling selflessly for charitable purposes.
