Have the girls who identify as NB and call themselves things that aren't even names been mentioned yet? Seems to be more and more of them lately. Off the top of my head I've encountered Moth, Bug, Bean, Sock, Paint, Red, and I think in the Sideshows thread one of them was contemplating naming herself Fork or Radio. Like most things they do it's obviously a way to seem quirky and eccentric, but also ensures you'll never be taken seriously, ever.

I'd even take the typical names like Quinn, Cayden and Kai over those. At least those are, or sound like names for people. But I don't get how someone could choose to be called Moth.

IRL the ones I meet go by very gender neutral ones even if they are "binary." it's also usually one syllable for one reason. But some of them just make no sense. A hulking hon of a she/they I know goes by Jay. I have never met a woman named Jay.

I just had the realization that there's a ton of overlap with these types and the early 00's zany "random" nerd culture stuff where people would be screaming "SPOOOON" or whatever at each other. Heard a possibly apocryphal story about someone named Onion recently.
