So long as our understanding of consent is legally tied to age, these things will happen. No, I'm not arguing for removing the age of consent, I would argue it needs to be higher actually, and the reason for that is the number of clueless 18 year olds has most definitely increased in the last few years, you cannot be mentally mature if you can't even conceive what your biological reality is. And yes, it's most likely due to the lack of a father figure.

So, if I think there are a lot of young adults that are very mentally immature, I think taking advantage of that to fuck them would count as grooming. Grooming is unethical.

You could also see it as the person having reached a certain age and that it's their responsibility to have matured enough by then. But even so, taking advantage of them to have sex with them doesn't help them and will most likely turn them into worse people. So, in overall, it's unethical.
