Vivz cannot draw faces. She's been at it for years and has never shaken her chronic same-face syndrome. Anime is horrendous for this, but it's anime so whatever. Her style is very much western therefore there's no excuse to be stuck on exactly the same proportions for literally every character that have eyes and a mouth when you can have exaggerated variety such a style allows.

That's honestly why vivzie and her body of work are a double edged sword for me. She knows what western animation needs to bring new life back into but another same time is still failling back on variants of everything wrong with it. I like to call what you pointed out, "same faces syndrome. " it started with the calarts bean mouth style being easy to draw and reuse to make whatever character you wanted. However give credit to her case of sfs, T least vizier draws faces with edge to them..and I mean literal jagged edges as opposed to bean mouth having only round corners. Which I'm convinced are so popular among modern animators cause "reee sharp lines are scary!"

I'd make a joke about nobody watching this show now because nobody gives a fuck about Amazon prime but....the boys has lasted multiple seasons on prime so anything is possible. Also I think I know why she moved to prime when everyone thought the show would be a Netflix show. Vivzie read the fine print on any contract Netflix wanted her to sign and every time she caught them trying to get her to sign over all rights to HH. Well that and Netflix now becoming worse than nickelodeon when it come to animation. Unless you're big mouth expect the axe in two seasons or less.

Sometimes some shows get to have two seasons as part of a contract like the Velma show supposedly is going to have another season even before season 1 was done.

With this it’s unexpected as there were no indications that a season two was ever in the works. So either Viv got a two season contract or A24/Amazon wanted more content from her so greenlit a second season

Reminder that standard procedure for animated streaming shows like these usually make a bunch of episodes for 1 season and then split it off into 2 or more as a tax write off, or something.

They're probably using that trick where it's one season of episodes split across two. Season 1 being 6 episodes "season 2" is 7.

For animation you usually want at least 65 episodes if there is any chance of syndication. I'm not sure if they invented it, but the Disney afternoon shows were run along these lines.

The theory that season 1 was cut down to only 8 episodes makes me think they DEFINITELY did that thing where they sometimes cut a show in half, then market the later half as a second season. Either that or part of Viv's contract was to always get a second season.
I just don't buy that with all the rumors, public tweets, and possible animation costs, that Viv would get anything more than absolutely necessary to get her the fuck out of the studio.

It seems the previous voice cast as well as the viewing audience are not exactly happy with the disappearance of the previous voice cast.

This one shot from the trailer stuck out to me.

As it was previously pointed out, having Alastor always smiling is like Viv wanted to make a character that would her own Joker. Except the latter has shown other emotions and doesn't constantly have a big grin. But what I really took notice of was, once again, the lack of originality for various demons. The only one who looks unique is the one on right with his head on fire. Then you have the furry bait who is not a Hellhound like Loona, because those demons all have red sclera with white irises, which just confuses the lore of this "universe" even more.

Now that you're pointing it out. They do all look kind samey in a bad way, the one sitting next to alastor is almost just a different color...
