You're over-complicating it, in this particular case.

@Throwing Romans posted the court order for release. Per the jail staff: Dave complained of afib, was confirmed to be in afib at the jail, was transported to the hospital and received meds for tachycardia there.
Dave being nonviolent, and troons being a hot potato that eat up a solitary room, the jail requested to release Dave rather than have a deputy staff his hospital room 24/7 until he was sent home.

Per Dave, he was off his maintenance meds for a couple of days, so it's no surprise he was concerningly tachycardic, and no surprise that he was fine after a couple boluses and resumption of his home meds.

Dave has the equivalent of a hobo's golden foot--the diabetic foot ulcer that will always buy them a few days in the hospital when the weather is bad--or how Shepard Fairey used to get his insulin pump confiscated when he was booked for vandalism, and then get released in a hurry when he started to go into DKA and visions of paperwork swam in the cops' eyes.

This only takes you so far. If Dave actually got sent to prison, they'd get him on his usual med routine and that'd be that. He'd probably still end up well-known to the prison infirmary, but they'd just compare his strip to the EKG from the last time he complained. Same time tomorrow, Danielle.

1st degree? That's fucking brutal. He'll almost definitely get it pled down to a lesser felony but even a 3rd degree typically comes with a sentence of 2 to 10 years and getting it dropped two sentencing levels is highly optimistic.
I had to look at Missouri's sentencing guidelines and they apparently class felonies using a letter system instead of the more standard numbered way, so does this mean he's been charged with a federal offense? He's fucking gone if that's the case. With the feds you usually have to serve 85% of your prison sentence before you're even eligible for parole.
This is the first time I've seen a lolcow get hit with something where the "peepee poopoo nigger bubba rape" mutt posting isn't beyond the realm of possibility.

No, these are all state offences. Harassment in Missouri is a Class E felony, but it comes in two flavours, Class 1 and 2. Relevant provisions cited in the court docs are below, plus sentencing provisions.

570.030 stealing offence
565.090 harassment offence
558.02 penalties - fines
558.11 penalties - imprisonment
558.04 - principles for imposing a fine
557 - general sentencing provisions
