I was really not impressed with the GTA 6 leaks. I know I shouldn't judge the game by it's early developmental footage, but I know exactly how the game will look when it releases, everyone here does.
It takes place in Vice City, so what? Without the charming characters and neon lights it means nothing, and this game will not have either. Due to current year and nu-Rockstar, there won't be any good writing or edgy humour either, so what's the point? Gameplay wise, GTA5 was inferior to GTA 4, why wouldn't GTA 6 continue the cycle, especially if GTAO is any indication where the future of the franchise lies?
Might be a hot take, but franchise peaked with Vice City. It was a perfect game, San Andreas was way too big for it's britches and I had to start it over several times to actually finish it(The Country segment is pure filler and goes on for way too long). Many of the elements in that game were also unneeded and were only added to make the game even bigger than the last, Vice City had less but it mattered more due to a smaller(yet still large) map and missions/side activities that were more fun to do(except the RC missions, fuck those). Who needed or asked for RPG stats in a GTA game? Hell, Gang Wars were almost entirely pointless too since you're kicked out of Los Santos so early, there must be other features I can't even remember at the moment that could be cut and nobody would be worse for wear. Can't think of any features Vice City could use, on the other hand, other than swimming, besides that the game had everything it needed already.
