Pick-me women / #NotLikeTheOtherGirls General

I’ve found over the last several years that pursuing your own interests and not worrying too much about who it attracts or repels (of either sex) is really the best course in life.

Do you like doing A or B? Then go do A or B, and stop worrying about whether or not it will attract friends of your own sex or potential partners from the opposite sex. If people were just themselves more, I feel like those who naturally mesh better together, whether as friends or as partners, would naturally find each other.

It’s cliche, but “being yourself” really is the best way to approach life. Something I truly hope “pick-me” girls and their male equivalents can discover someday. You shouldn’t have to change who you are and try to ‘serve’ someone else just for friendship/romantic relationships.
I think many people miss the first step of "being yourself" which is "find out who you really are." It's contradictory to accept your values from someone else. Your true values and interests can only come from within yourself.

It's the main problem with pickmes. They don't know who they are, they don't care to know themselves. They only want to be what they think a man would like, which will always feel artifical and hollow compared to a genuine person.

I completely agree. Also, this may just be from my personal experience, but living on your own (no parents, no roommates) is a huge developmental point that I feel like a lot of people in the younger generations missed out on. When you’re forced to provide for yourself and you’re stuck with your own thoughts the majority of the time, you do a lot of soul-searching and self-discovery that can really help you figure out who you are and what you want in life. If you spend 24/7 immersed in what other people want and what other people are doing, you’ll never have time to focus inward. Social media hasn’t helped with that, either.

According to women I know its a problem with men of all generations.
I actually looked that up, and it seems like a lot of instances I found detailed guys who were products of single mothers or fathers who never taught them proper hygiene. With rising divorce rates and single parent households becoming more commonplace, I would wager that at least partly explains why it’s appearing more in the younger generations. Although yes, there are always going to be lazy, unhygienic people in every generation.

Edit: Sorry about the double post

You catch a vibe off of them that's akin to incels-- like everything they learned from relationships is from movies and TV, and they squirrel themselves away into this obsessive headspace.
You'd almost feel bad if it weren't obvious that so many women are praying on other women's downfalls so they feel less shitty.

I do think it's worth pointing out the NLOG phase is an overreaction to being bullied by other girls and women, especially for GNC behavior. It's not a healthy reaction, but it is what it is.

Nowadays those girls just insist they aren't girls at all.
:( child and teen me relates to this though scrotes we're worse during that time so I was just alone for the entirety till adulthood and met a few cool women to be friends with.

Signs you may be a “pick me”:
  • You feel the intense need to compete against other women to stand out, even if some of those women are already in relationships
  • You find yourself taking on the habits, hobbies, and interests of the person you want to attract, not because you like them, but because you want to impress them
  • You degrade your entire sex to impress men that see most women as either: whores, sociopaths, idiots, or maids
  • You see normal habits and interests you have as unique when they really aren’t (like bragging that you cook most meals at home)
  • You always claim men have it worse in nearly all circumstances and coddle men
  • Any daughters you have are future competition to look better than
  • No matter what, no other woman can be as good as you. You take pride in being “one of the good ones”
  • You automatically believe men that say they got raped/sexually assaulted, but claim all women are liars when they bring up the same problem
  • You base your self worth on ability to attract men
  • You refuse to work with most women due to belief that they are “more drama” than men
  • You view emotion as a weakness and praise men for being the more logical ones
  • You claim all your beauty is “effortless” as a way to one-up women that admit to wearing makeup, getting beauty treatments, and putting time into appearance
  • You view most other women outside yourself as too superficial
  • You have a hard time understanding female socialization and cope by being a “pick me”
  • You’ll be overly charitable to bad behavior from men, while overly critical of women that do the same
Of course, many variations of the “pick me” exist, so it would be hard to fit every single point listed above

  • Any daughters you have are future competition to look better than
I never really understood this one. Why am I supposed to want to compete with my own daughter for hotness points when they’re literally 18-35 years your junior? I can see why moids like it cause it pits women against one another but I don’t see how it benefits a woman or her offspring to play into this.

I…don’t think any of those points are goals or good things. Do you? They’re all based in insecurity and ridiculous self-centering.

"hahaha I am such a money-wasting retard by having basic hygiene and caring about my appearance, I wish I was nasty and stinky wearing the same shirt for several weeks instead teehee, so superior!"

Idk, just toss out your clothes except for 2 shirts and 2 hoodies and this can be you?

there was that other woman who argued with her in the thread and immediately all the moids were CATFIGHT CATFIGHT. They were happy to see two women "fight", doesn't matter if one of them posted all those ebin memes. At the end of the day she's still just a woman they delight in seeing be attacked.

can't imagine trying to impress people like that.

My reply killed itself. But it was something along the lines of that was me (or I was one of them). That was a weird exchange. I made an “and also working mothers” comment to something that poster said about “trad” mothers, literally not even criticizing whatever is their fantasy lifestyle. That poster went awf, 0-60 in a single comment, playing victim, soap boxing, making up things never said, demanding repeatedly that I must screenshot something they said in the same thread (tf?), and pulled out the old “she’s fat and can’t get a man” (sure, honey). Unhinged. I don’t stick with crazy, so I stopped replying and 2 days later discovered I had a week’s thread ban :dunsparce: even though I dindu nuffin much*. (Ok, derailing, I guess, but only one of us got a timeout, lol.) *also I joked about the “pickme” thing because…that was accurate.

And yeah, the peanut gallery laughed about the “catfight,” but though I don’t know, I’d bet that commenter got the updoots- I sure didn’t :story:

they got the updoots but going "haha two women arguing" says it all

You’d be surprised what at the lengths people will go for just the slightest bit of attention. A good amount of men in that thread have no idea what they actually want from women, and will hate the career woman and the SAHM for different reasons. Also, they have immense disdain for single mothers, but not enough shaming of deadbeat dads. There are some occasionally decent posts in there, but a good amount is whiny and melodramatic. Being a pick me is just a losing scenario in all of this because it doesn’t matter if you’re “one of the good ones,” many just see women as inherently inferior.

As I said earlier in this thread, if you're gonna be a pick-me, at least try to get picked by men that are cute? Why sweaty, fat, autistic /pol/cels? 🤔

It baffles the mind. Maybe it's because there is less (no) competition for these men? There's always been some mentally ill/autistic girls on 4chan's /b/ and some of them even go to incel sites to try and get attention from the poo-in-loo moids there. I guess they get validation from being "the only girl" in that setting and they don't even mind the constant abuse that's thrown their way. It's just kind a sad and I hope that most girls grow out of that phase by the time they are adults. A grown woman still behaving like that is tragic. I can't imagine reading posts about how inferior you and your gender are all day and it not affecting you. Why do that when you could just have fun hating men instead?

I do the latter, what does that mean?

I ain't wearing stinky shirts tho, that's nasty.

And when the daughter has no interest in conforming to gender stereotypes and expected female beauty regiments and standards, these women still get mad and call their daughters dykes and shit.

Ask me how I know
