I think the same. The people here are saying that her mother can't do anything, but I think that there's something wrong on all of this.
I'm not here to make people agree with me 100%, but I have this feeling that Ashley's mother can do better than this.

To be honest, I think that the options for her are almost nonexistent. Even the reinstitution of nutrition can be dangerous for her (Refeeding Syndrome).

For me personally, not really. I think her mother needs to force her into a treatment center, or stage an intervention or something. There's really nothing her mother could do at home that wouldn't be either enabling or harming her in some way.

Having access to the Internet also means that if mommy gets more aggressive, Ashley will just run to Instagram to all her fans. Ashley is very sick but also a manipulative sociopath as a result of the illness.

Even if Ashley were magically restored to health and monitored 24/7 to keep away from disordered eating, she'd still find a way to make herself a helpless victim and go right back to exploiting peoples' sympathies.

Her mother doesn't have those kind of resources. The best she could do is punish Ashley for her bad behavior by taking away what she loves most (Target, buying shit, the internet) and hope that she caves to see reason. Rebecca needs to take control of her daughter's life first and foremost. Therapy is a long term goal that can't be achieved until this little shit learns to respect her authority.

Of course doing that would require hard work and putting up with Ashley's temper tantrums. You would think that would be worth it to save your daughter's life. Face it, Rebecca just can't be bothered to give a fuck.

I think the only way Ash is going to stop manipulating and destroying others along with herself is if she dies. So, in that sense, she should die already only so that she stops draining the time and resources out of everyone else while being entirely undeserving of it.

My initial response when I saw the OP was pity, but then I read about what Ashley actually does. Spooky skelly or not, humanity will experience a net gain with her death, and even her mother would probably agree.

This thread is a vicious cycle. Like once a month someone discovers Ashley, then decides not to read the o.p explaining how she is a cunt. They white knight, new people see the bumped post and then they also don't bother to read shit and start having a pity party. Then someone who actually has read this thread sees it bumped and assumes she's finally croaked. Then it turns into pages of "why isnt she forced to be commited?", people explaining why, the same questions over and over. New people finally get told she's a bitch and the thread winds down until some new finds her a month later.

I don't get why no one reads this thread before posting. She can't be commited. Her mom is a bitch, but there is nothing she can do now to help. Ashley is a vindictive mean person and in the end her own spiteful nature will kill her.

This is specifically why Ashley cannot be committed:

The Baker Act in Florida only covers imminent suicidal or homicidal actions. It does not cover things like anorexia, bulimia, alcoholism, drug abuse, Slaton-esque overeating issues, smoking 14 packs of cigarettes a day, or anything else that a normal person would consider a slow suicide. If Ashley decided to directly threaten to an hero (i.e. "I can't go on anymore, I'm gonna eat a whole bottle of aspirin! Fuck you mom!"), THEN she would be taken into a Baker Act receiving facility. Mental health and personal liberties are a trapeze act in this country due to the history of forced institutionalization and lobotomies in the past. Infringing on personal rights is a huge no-no and a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Ashley is legally an adult and even though she's clearly not mentally sound, she's not really a danger to anyone but herself in a very slow, very painful manner. Nobody can force her to get help and even if she did, she would likely rebound to being anorexic all over again. I live in Florida just like Ash, and I know how the law works here. She cannot be forced by Baker Act.

Please stop pitying her and worrying about her family. If she genuinely wanted or cared about help, she would have already gotten it years ago. It's not just her "disease", it's a part of her personality. People who have sympathy for others would not sit idly by and torture their family and friends the way she does even if they did have severe anorexia. Her "recovery" is just a farce for asspats. She preys on young girls and attempts to make THEM anorexic. Seriously, there is nothing to pity here. All the white knighting in the world is not gonna make her a better person.
