This is like, my third time trying to make this less of a tl;dr to read, lolI think while leftist nonsense on the western side of things (subtitles, localization, inserting leftist terms) always leaks in, what keeps manga/Anime from turning into what Comics & Hollywood have is how different Japanese culture is from western culture. Japan isnt a melting pot like America is. The only way I see wokeness making substantial headway is if sony or Netflix start buying japanese Animation studios & production companies.
I'll try to sum it up, but I'm not going to lie: the USA has a shit ton of baggage regarding it, sequential art/comics/animation, and for what it's worth, Japan as a whole. It's not the kind of thing anyone can just come into the room and just outright ignore before getting mauled and devoured by it. If there's anything I can say that has any lasting effect we can see today, it's the fact that nearly all Americans have their narrative run by the idea that "World War II Is A Creation Myth For The Modern Day" (I believe in this a lot really, people will never admit to it but the subconscious is a very powerful thing), and that this has now run its course to where everything is where it is today. Tojo and the Imperial Japanese are Gog and Magog or something to modern Americans, honestly, and no matter how much one denies it, it's true. This makes anything Japanese to them anathema of a topic to bring up.
The other problem is Blackrock. I was there in Florida before they pulled that real estate scam that fucked the country over. Fuck those guys. They're probably laughing at us, but they've long gatekept financial and economic profiles to where they can manipulate the media into doing anything they want them to do. They know anime is a large wakizashi wielded by Otoya Yamaguchi sized thorn in their abdomen. Robber barons turned those who claim to do things for our own good. How ironic of them to merge into one entity.
Plus, you're not wrong saying leftists are responsible for this shit. While morality in media squads were the loudest back in the 80s and 90s, Hollywood was scaring itself shitless over new forms of entertainment popping up all over when their revenues were going down because they pushed out too much droll "mature" entertainment shit on their end. They then tried to get Congress to ban video games with the "think of the children" angle as well. Though if you ask me, this problem lies with about anyone who was a shithead regarding this regardless of political wankery. The tradition of quashing the arts and creative minds for a penny or for voters is definitely an American problem.
If I remember, they just added another metal square frame around the bends to instead make it look more abstract.Censorship in Bleach isn't new.
I remember back in the Fullbring arc, Ichigo had a weapon that resembled a swastika, which in reality was a Japanese Kanji character.
In the anime it was censored to appear like crosses.
