He has the right to but it's retarded. He's not owed anything and he's playing himself hanging around unwanted like that. Those types are completely entitled though so they can't be reasoned with.

He's being a chump, but was it a clear Not Interested or one of those half-assed maybe, maybe not types where she wants to keep him as a backup? Chump either way, but one is less bad than the other.
