I'm pretty sure Islam actually forbids most art forms - including drawn art - which is why most of the interesting art from the Middle East is before Islam really took over. Most of the recent "art" is pottery and fabric, IIRC.

Oh yeah, Muslims are extremely particular about any art of people specifically, iirc, and just to be super safe a lot of Muslim art is just fancy gold plated versions of the Shahada. Some good mosaics, I'll grant. But just like all the other stuff we have talked about there's a lot of differing understandings and applications of Islam and a lot of otherwise fairly devout Muslims listen to at least a little bit of "Western" music - just like a lot of devout Christians avoid blue artists but patronize folks like Amy Grant (before she had the audacity to write a song about her newborn baby that they all misinterpreted).
