I got brought back to this thread, so I want to say something that I remembered after posting last time:
If I'm remembering correctly, which I'm pretty sure I am, after the female-majority gossip website Pretty Ugly Little Liars (PULL) was shut down, some of their users started trickling over here as refugees, largely because we were also covering some of the same cows. Null appreciated that they are also cow connoisseurs, but also recognized that the site culture of where they come from is somewhat different. He also noticed that other female-majority gossip sites were shutting down around the same time.
From this, he created the Beauty Parlour board specifically for these female refugees and with the explicit knowledge that the culture of that board would be slightly different, but still with the expectation that they'd follow most of KF's basic ethos. In particular, no cow-tipping. The strict "no thirst-posting" rule is an accommodation to this difference in culture.
Because there's always been a female contingent on Kiwifarms. It's that they usually go unnoticed because they're the ones that
can hang.
And, tbh, I use some of the BP threads, but that's with me having to tolerate some of the cultural differences that I don't like. Like some users' propensity to powerlevel and make the conversation about themselves by doing this, and then everyone else's propensity to encourage this - as long as they're not powerleveling
too much and they're not embarassing the rest of the posters - through poz-rates (I know, I say acknowledging the ratings is gay, but lezbereal here). That shit annoys tf out of me. I'd use more of the threads if this wasn't the case, because I like some of those cows, and I appreciate that sometimes celebrities can also be cows with threads.
I understand where Null is coming from in creating that part of the site and why he offers it some special protections, even if I think it's a bit much to ban some of the dudes from the whole board, preventing them from posting in the troon threads. A&N also basically exists as a refugee board for people being banned from political and current event sites for being too based, or whatever, but the PULL, etc. refugees are at least following the basic purpose of the site by gossiping and laughing at Internet retards.
But I also have never been in the Man-Hate thread, because I know, between some of the valid complaints, that I'll just end up feeling embarrassed. And I knew, when I saw it pop up, that this kind of response thread would also be created. Though it's not nearly bad as I was expecting - like I was expecting pics and videos of women being outright brutalized and shit.

Also, the "moid" shit keeps confusing me. I'm pretty sure "foid" was the original one, standing for "femoid" so I keep thinking moid is just another way of saying foid/femoid because femoid has moid at the end.
