It is. I remember when Frog would come in here intimating that he knew that (the self-employed photocopier jockey) was some sort of big wheel behind the scenes, lending substance behind all his talk and professional instructions towards other creators. Until then I wasn't sure if he was in on it or not. Truly he was just as big a mark as any of his customers.
Cecil's been on a networking tour lately, seeking an out from the Comicsgate lifeboat. There was his move at the Tampa Bay Comic Con to lead the attendees to visit a BDSM sex dungeon, which Malin used to turn PTP and a lot of the smaller creators into a laughing stock. Then there was the trip to Anime Matsuri, which was a bald-faced attempt to attach himself onto the FNT set and Nick Rekieta, who spent most of the trip getting drunk in a hot tub and also trying to latch on to Nerdrotic and Critical Drinker to shore up his own sinking prospects. There was also an appearance on Alex Stein, who invited a horrified Dave onto his show to help him spread salad dressing on an obese bald man's 'bussy'. Get it, gent!
These efforts bore meagre fruit in the form of an invite to Rekieta's Nashville Balldo Bash and another opportunity to schmooze himself a spot on Rackets' drunken coomstreams, even if it meant rubbing shoulders IRL with Dirtworm Doug and Dick Masterson, against whom he had been trying to prove his worth to Eric July as a 'true friend' and loyal attack dog. Many photos of everyone together with big smiles and tagging each other were posted. Statements that internet grudges were childish things not meant for real men like everyone at Nashville were made. Rekieta livestreamed blackout drunk from his hot tub in a Playboy-themed airBnB about how Yellowflash was a giant faggot for refusing to go in between puke sessions in his hotel room. Overall, things were good.
It was only a few short weeks after the friendship-fest that he tried to snake his new good friend Dick Masterson by reiterating that while Dick was cowed and super nice to him person, Dick's review was still a veiled attack on his best pal Eric July but alas, Cecil was just an bumpkin who fell off the haytruck compared to the sort of LA-level snakery Masterson and co deal in. They were lining up the knives into his back as soon as he got off the plane. By the time Cecil resumed denouncing Dick and Vito for clout and claiming that Dick was super-deferential to him in person, IRL superchatter Riley was posting that he had recorded plenty of footage of Cecil going along with Masterson shitting on Isom. Whoops!
Personally, I think the existence or not of footage of Cecil going along with Dick shitting on Isom is a moot point. Rippa doesn't seem interested in some sort of arrangement where he carries David's talentless ass for life in exchange for the nebulous gift of 'friendship with Cecil'. July seems very aware that his position as 'top dog' means an endless onslaught of hangers-on and is very guarded against any attempt to exploit him by either friend or foe. It's the sort of deal that only Frog would accept.

Yeah, I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, DougT loves to hang around degenerates because he thinks he's being like Jesus hanging around whores and criminals since they need his message the most. He has consistently said this every time people question why he's hanging around weirdos. It's why he started hanging with Preston "Peggie" Poulter for example. I agree. @FROG is attempting to fence sit (and perhaps leaning towards the haters). But from July's POV anything less than being completely on his side is against him. Recently I have heard Ralph and Dick praise EVS on today's Killstream, Riley shout out both Cyberfrog and Lonestar on Drunken Peasants. @FROG, JDA, Dark Gift Comics, and Smiller all still stream with Vito. EVS is already on the wrong side of the FNT and G&G crew who are tight with Eric. The Comicsgate kings all want a paycheck from more Rippaverse variants and posters or full gigs like Baron's Goodyng so they must be nervous every time EVS tweets or streams that their cash source may be cut off permanently.

JDA also put out a five minute video criticizing Riley (which I'm not gonna bother linking). I agree in general they're all gonna fence sit to the maximum extent possible, but I think a few of them are also spooked about the stunt Riley pulled. That was in excess of the usual online shit-flinging you see in CG.

My point here (in case it wasn't clear) isn't that they're gonna do a hard disavow of anybody. I agree with the sentiment expressed thus far that they'll fence sit or play both sides. Only that some of them are offering token public criticism because the optics on what Riley did look bad. That's all.

Eric was beating his chest a little, but it was pretty clear that his point was that going to a different state specifically to fuck with someone's business and at night is weird and a good way to get shot. Vito is 100% a part of this side of Comicsgate and Riley and Mint Salad will be whenever they decide to sell a comic book. As much as this side can say they are for Eric July they are also for the people fucking with him.
This video is so full of EVS backhanded jabs at Eric July it's funny shit. I think if Rippa's cash cow keeps producing then he will eventually have had enough of this crap and demand absolute loyalty.
