I came across a post from a rabbi musing about the bris of his son who has since trooned out. This bit really stuck out at me:

My transgender daughter recently performed at a JCC fundraiser for Playmakers Youth Theatre, the group where she discovered her talents in the world of musical theater. It was an emotional night for my wife and me, seeing her out and proud, a transcendent light performing a scene in a role written for a female-identified person to play. Following the program, a female-presenting girl of early elementary school age approached my daughter and told her how much it meant to see her in the show. The girl told my daughter, “You see, I’m transgender, too.”

The person who wrote that nonsense is a true knucklehead, whose experience with actual women seems to be limited to young gals who are into fashion/makeup/etc. That cohort leaves out *bajillions* of ordinary women like me, who just exist in our female bodies without giving it a second thought. If what this person says is true, am I a woman if I'm sitting alone in my house (like right now), not "performing" any womanly aesthetics?

Any number of women with my same age and life experience could be stark naked running around in the woods, (me in my post-menopausal, retired senior citizen, overweight, gravitationally impacted birthday suit, with no makeup, etc), and we're still women, and more so than any of these folks.

The misogyny emanating from these people is so awful.
