Are you getting the vaccine? - Absolute trashfire thread, please enter with caution

I've been vaccinated and I've more or less kept up to date on my boosters. At this point, though, Covid is endemic. Too many shitheads couldn't obey lockdown and just coordinate 2-weeks no-exceptions to stay at home back in 2020. And just when it seems everyone's on board? Oops, a cop got caught unjustly killing a black guy, lets all go crowd around in the street and play with bricks all summer long.

Never caught Covid to my knowledge. From what I understand, it's adapted to become far less deadly, so it is pretty much another flu now. I don't think vaccination should be mandated, no one should face penalty for declining health care, but I don't mind it being a requirement to utilize some public resources; if you want to raise your children crusty, you can school them at home and keep them away from mine.

Finally a reasonable opinion.

Hey look! A guy who I think is wrong on some points but at least isn't a loop of BELIEVE THE SCIENCE BELIEVE THE SCIENCE FOX NEWS DONALD TRUMP HITLER NAZI ANTIVAXXER RAPEFUGEE!

Never got vaccinated. I think I got COVID twice over past few years. My boss kept wanting me to get the vax, and at the time, didn't have anything against it, but just it annoyed me that he was trying to pressure me, so I simply put it off. After getting COVID a couple of times it was just like a bad cold, *maybe* flu level if you're pushing it. I simply worked from home, no biggie.

I'm pretty relieved I never got vaccinated, since many of other women I know had it mess with their periods, etc., and every single person I know who is vaxxed to the gills all got COVID anyway.

I pride myself on being able to beat out the conspiracy theorists on distrusting our government. I am very antisocial, highly individualistic and I do not trust our government to have our best interests at heart. That said, I believe our government has a vested interest in keeping us alive, able-bodied (enough to work) and fertile.

We're cattle. (((They))) want us to work (thus unwillingly paying taxes and producing value), so they don't want us dead or crippled. (((They))) want us to work for the bare minimum to produce as much capital as possible. (((They))) want us destitute, distracted, living lives of unprotected debauchery and making even more destitute and distracted workers for (((them))) to exploit. The bottom line is that we need to be alive, capable of labor and capable of breeding for (((them))) to benefit.

This is a rare event where (((their))) interests (keeping us alive, working and fertile) align with our interests (living, able-bodied and fruitful). Think about it, don't look too hard at the gift-horse's mouth and carpe fucking diem.

Vaxed, never got it. That I know of. Or even a cold during the same period of time. Once you actually get it though it's pretty pointless to get a vaccine for some probably out of date variant when whatever you got is probably the current one.

You remind me of me, but more stable and aware.

If there's another lockdown, it'd give me an excuse to be away from people. But, I do not like being forced to do something just to live.

You seem like a reasonable farmer so I ain't trying to be shitty here, but being denied access to public resources IS a penalty. Not to mention the vaccines kids take, and the corona "vaxx" are WILDY different in effectiveness and need. It is unbelievably rare for a school age kid to die from corona, same as the flu.

I feel that, brother.

All these ads, going "DO YOU FEEL LONELY ALL BY YOURSELF DURING LOCKDOWN, YOU NORMIE EXTROVERT??? DO YOU MISS DANCING TO POPULAR MUSIC AT CLUBS AND PUBLICLY MEETING UP WITH PEOPLE YOU BARELY KNEW FROM HIGH SCHOOL??? OUR THERAPISTS ARE JUST TEN TOUCHES AWAY, AND EAGERLY AWAITING YOUR CALL WITH BATED BREATH."

Fuck 'em. I thrived through lockdown. Strangers were afraid to make eye contact, let alone make small talk. The freeways were finally navigatable. The future is autistic and antisocial, and it's fine by me.

Thanks, I try to be reasonable. If you ask me, you're trying to eat your cake and still have it. I don't know about you, but certain shots were required for school when/where I grew up. There probably were religious exemptions, but that would require your parents to lie and say they were part of a fundie cult. If your parents were Christian and looked down on the 7DA, LDS, JW cults (as any god-fearing, self-respecting Christian would), it would be blasphemy to claim their name just to dodge a TDAP/MMR/Hep shot.

Yes, being denied taxpayer funded resources can be seen as a penalty. Unlike what the communists would have you believe, this resource (education) is not one of your inalienable rights to be provided by the government and can already be revoked in multiple other ways. If you want the bonuses of society, you can keep your kids up to date on their shots or do independent study.

In many states it is illegal to not send your children to certain educational institutions. If those states implemented a vaccine mandate for covid, not giving your children the vaccines would constitute child abuse by proxy.

Their children would be taken from them until their 18th birthday, they might have no-contact orders against them, and they would be put in prison. In this case, education isn't a "bonus," it's a felony to refuse. With other examples, like employment, you would forever chain working age adults to government handouts because they refused medication. Depending on the amount of vaccines required, you might be legislating close to 1/4 or 1/3 of America into poverty by requiring covid vaccinations for work. Not only is that an illegal abuse of power, it would cripple the economy.

Most of the ways your rights are violated are done by private companies, then funneled to the government. Facebook collects my data even if I don't own electronic devices or use Facebook at all. I can't even opt out. Then that data is sent to the U.S. Government in exchange for payment. Any photographs of you in modern phones or on the internet are run through facial recognition automatically because of AWS and other hosting providers, along with geolocation metadata. Everything about this violates our rights against unreasonable search and seizure, but because they're private few or no penalties are awarded.

TL;DR: moral differences between legislation and collective private action are smoke and mirrors, and mandating vaccines for certain actions can have a domino effect that would create an economic caste system between believers and non-believers. If you didn't give your kids the shot, you might be jailed for child abuse, or if you didn't get it, you will probably be homeless because the government won't let you work.

Never got the vaccine. Never got covid. Was put through some intense social pressure by my community and family that I resisted.

Someone I knew got the original and the booster, projectile vomited both times, and then had years of chronic pain and inflammation which is still being dealt with via NSAIDs which started immediately after the shot. His mother is a nurse though and said the vaccine would never do this!

Someone else is maxx vaxxed and has had covid 5 times including "long covid" which has given him chronic fatigue, and his sister + her bf constantly get sick with covid too. What a nightmare existence for these people who thought they'd be safe when they're in immune system hell.

I'm glad I put up with the discrimination to avoid what they're still going through 3 entire years later. Nightmare. Will never forget them urging pregnant women here to "do the right thing" in huge ad campaigns. Messed up.

Got it back in 2021 and got one booster in 2022. But after that I’m done. The booster was the one that really knocked me on my ass and I’m young and have a healthy enough immune system that I’m not worried about “long COVID” really. Same with the masks too. I’m not an anti-masker or whatever but they’re uncomfortable to wear and probably not as effective as we were all told.

Man, I hope this HHH nigger is a script. Do not engage him, or any of the other faggots, there is nothing to be gained.
Rapefugee should go back to /pol/ where he can watch Fox News with his fellow elderly bible thumpers.

It's already the case that children need to be fully vaccinated to be able to access public resources, so it's not unreasonable to say that it could extend to other public resources. Hell, the government can already forcibly quarantine you if you have certain illnesses (TB, ebola, etc) so it's not like they've been unable to do stuff under the guise of stopping viruses

i hope its worse. it'd be far more entertaining if things were more dramatic, instead of the boring shitshow we got
the way they act, the lockdown was literally the most dystopian thing ever, nothing could possibly be worse. don't you understand? THEY COULDN'T EVEN GO OUTSIDE! (inb4 what about places not in the US? no1curr, sux2bu)

i hope another lockdown happens just because it would send the antivax retards over the edge
Nah man I'd have fun with it like I did the first time, lol. A second lockdown would mean I get to double down on being antivaxxx, and even give me a sense of accomplishment because I never got the vaxxx throughout the entire first round.

I'd draw memes where they'd have a needle the size of the Goodyear blimp ready for those of us who never got a single vaxxx, being held up by a crying wojak while a gif of a dancing pepe runs at double speed, or something.

As much as it pains me to say (because our country has a problem with being dumb as hell and I would like to change that by force), the problem is that we're mandated to send our children to school in the first place. Education should be something desirable to increase the prosperity of your lineage, it shouldn't have to be forced under penalty of law.
If those states implemented a vaccine mandate for covid, not giving your children the vaccines would constitute child abuse by proxy.
Not vaccinating your children for MMR/TDAP/Hep A/B already constitutes as child neglect in most jurisdictions. Same with denying them blood transfusions. We allow exemptions for fundamentalist nutters, but enough people are ashamed to falsely take up that banner to where those illnesses wouldn't be public health crises. People openly and proudly care about the covid vaccine because it's been politicized.
Their children would be taken from them until their 18th birthday, they might have no-contact orders against them, and they would be put in prison. In this case, education isn't a "bonus," it's a felony to refuse.
Went from about a 3 to an 11 there. I suggest we shouldn't be forcing people to send their kids to school. You might still be endangering your own child in some peoples' eyes, but you aren't endangering their childen, and you wouldn't be in trouble for not getting your own children a public education. We should be incentivising, maybe even subsidizing homeschooling and independent study (going to school for maybe an hour a month to turn in a packet and pick up the next). Allow people to peacefully refuse vaccination while giving them options for their family to minimize risks of outbreaks.
With other examples, like employment,
Not going with employment, that's not a taxpayer-funded resource unless you're a public sector worker. I excpect hospital/healthcare workers (which are a grey area between private and public sectors) to get their damn shots, just to weed out the holistic crunchy nurses that somehow slipped through the cracks in med school. Anyone working anywhere else, I could not care less.

Yeah, those fucking dumb firefighters, EMTs, nurses, cops, soldiers, power station workers, sewage workers, truck drivers, grocery store/gas station workers and food workers should have JUST STAYED HOME!

Lol nigger do you even know how society functions? Once it got out of China trying to stop Covid from spreading was pretty much like trying to stop a hurricane.
