Did anyone else who got the email from support@fishtank.live about Wefunder get a list of like 75 other email addresses they were sending it to? I didn't see it mentioned here but the Fishtank and Sam Hyde talk is kinda scattered around. I also don't have a X Twitter to check. While I don't care about the email address I used to signup for Fishtank, it doesn't leave me confident that they are disclosing peoples email addresses.

The problem as I see it is they are looking at Fishtank in how much they can milk out of it. I get focusing on whales but you need to offer lower end stuff to also make money. Everything Sam does has a like 30% Sam hyde Tax so its always out of price of that lower end group.
Yeah they seem to focus on whales to the detriment of the common viewer. Yes, whales will generate most of the money, but you need a base to keep it going and make it a "thing." I am also very doubtful they've actually accrued hundreds of thousands in a short time authentically. Looking forward to when no one sees any practical returns on their "investment" and some people complain on Twitter only to be blocked by Jet and Sam.
Granted, I'm not even a media amateur, let alone expert.

Someone brought it up to jet on Twitter but it wasn't properly acknowledged.

Anyone who trusts Sam or Jet to keep customer data in house is naive. Even if they have best intentions, there is no chance they have proper data policies and procedures so mistakes will happen. For example, some idiot may copy and paste customer emails into the "to" line.

Fun mystery tonight. Who's this?

Jon was live for about 2 and a half hours, most of it was just him telling the weird stories and talking about how he just recorded with Wusty Cage. He's getting much more comfortable with streaming and it seems like while everyone else has been getting a 10-20% boost from being live while the Fishtank Live website is open before the documentary, Jon's tiny Kick got a 400% boost (from 5 to 35 lol) which is thrilling for him.

Anyway: when he finished, the VOD appeared with this thumbnail. And the first 10 seconds of the video were a frozen frame of this guy, before abruptly switching to the live feed of Jon. Then the VOD went down.

Judging based on them both having the same droopy cow eyes... Jon's brother setting his stream up? Did he mention having a brother?

He has mentioned he has brothers, I think he said 5 (!).

Is this a particularly big deal? I though Fishtank was pretty normie/mainstream at this point, so I can't see a Jezebel article going up about the "75 Nazis who notorious mass shooter, Sam Hyde, accidentally doxed"

Fishtank never broke into the mainstream. It broke out of MDE's general audience but the total lack of media coverage kept it a niche internet thing. You have to be in the know to know about it I think the only actual media coverage got was an irrelevant New Mexico station covering it.

I don’t think news coverage of it is the line between normie or not. All I know is that my friend’s little brother asked me a while back if I was watching fish tank bc he and his friends were watching it. This, being a completely normal kid and not a 4chan weirdo

This isn't the first grifter who cannot understand the difference between Cc and Bcc.

Received an email with 50 other email addresses in the recipients. When I opened up a window to compose a reply to everyone involved, Thunderbird showed this:

I'd like to think whatever software he used to mass email must've included a similar disclaimer somewhere. Like come the fuck on, there's firstname.lastname@gmail.com addresses here.

So you're saying that I should invest in a company that:

  1. Barely has its fundamental upkeeps worked out and only had a good ROI the first time because of the paypigs with daddy's credit card and by the craziest circumstance of word of mouth by the iDubbbz controversy.
  2. Has barely had half a year following the first money making event and yet is already looking at these major diversification prospects.
  3. Has had little to no advertising for season 2 (even though they could easily engulf the more fringe corners of the internet with stuff like selected YouTuber sponsorships and other social media engagements) months before season 2 is about to happen.
  4. Has de-emphasized the, what, 80% of people who are low spenders and want to contribute to the happenings inside the house.
  5. Has figureheads that hand-wave and grinfuck their viewers when they give them suggestions on the direction of the show.
  6. Has a bold 10 year plan because they think they own a monopoly on this new form of television (they do have a monopoly, but only by virtue of being the pioneers before any competitors enter the market (like saying Myspace was a monopoly of social media and that totally lasted for 10 years))
  7. Has little transparency to it's """investors"""

All for a chance to make a return on invest IF:

  • This company somehow goes public
  • Some rogue businessman thinks that this company is profitable enough to buy after 10 years
  • The house (which they don't even have yet) somehow increases in equity after several people film themselves stanking up the place.
  • (No dividends, no ways to sell your stake to other investors as far as I'm aware)
Well, I don't know anything about money, I listen to Sam Hyde (an art major) for financial advice. SIGN! ME! UP! MDE NEVER DIESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

(Fr I want Sam and Jet to blow my expectations out the water and make me look like a dumbass because that means many years of lols in the tank, but I don't like where this is going)

this is a pinky promise from the guy that invented the term debtmaxxing.

If you've got even half a functioning brain you should have an immediate blaring alarm in your head saying "PULL UP PULL UP" if you're considering giving this money. Jet Neptune is an incel in the most literal sense and Sam has so thoroughly surrounded himself with yes men he probably doesn't think critically anymore. These guys are serial fuckups and fistank almost crashed mere days into its airing because they didn't bother to read their terms with google hosting.

That valuation is fucking retarded as hell and they're going to have a hard time recreating the perfect storm of Fishtank(which they claim only made just over 1M dollars).

Are Jet and Sam going to acknowledge leaking people's emails or what lol
Probably not, Sam's current fan base don't really think very far in the future nor do they have the attention span to be concerned with things like this. Doubt it will become a big deal, it's also incredibly suspicious that they somehow have over 500,000 dollars already but only 75 people on their mailing list. Looks like a bit of astroturfing happened.

I agree with most of this I just wanted to clarify that I'm 99.99% sure they are never planning to actually own a house, I don't know why Sam phrased it like they were gonna be "homeowners" for S2 but they're just leasing it again. And he said the plan for S3 and beyond is to make a fake house inside a warehouse.
