I'm curious to see how Egypt deals with this. I'm pretty sure Egypt said "Lol fuck no" to taking Gaza back, for a myriad of reasons. I wonder if Egypt will be willing to take a bunch of Palestinian refugees into the Sinai, or if they'll prefer the Palestinians get their shit pushed in by the Israelis while they watch from their side of the border.

The Palestinians have been destabilizing influences in countries like Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan, without Israeli help in the past.

I know Egypt is opposed to Israel annexing the strip, it may even be in the Camp David accords. But I don't see how it lasts after this. Nothing Egypt does will be able to stop Israel and no one in the West is going to be able to tell them no. The only thing I can se stopping it is if the Saudis and OPEC fuck with gas again like in the 1970s but even that might expand into something much bigger with how tense the world is.

I mean it is possible, Netanyahu could raze Gaza to the ground after this and most Israelis would cheer him on. The question is how disproportionate the response is going to be. Usually the Israelis are fine with killing a couple hundred civilians in retaliation for one or two of theirs, so this round is going to be incredibly bloody.

Can someone explain what the point of this even is for Hamas? I understand the context behind this between the two countries but unless they do a full scale invasion what are they ultimately going to gain from this?

Interesting. I wonder then what the coming information will be on Saudi support of hamas in order to make it seem like they are/were not related to sinking the talks. For instance, if they sunk the talks themselves, EU/US powers would likely sour, but if hamas does it, then "wink wink, it's not me, it's my brother, sorry about that.
