Late reply, but this is exactly the same bullshit in the FF14 modding community (which itself deserves a thread at this point because it's full of lolcows -like Caroline, Bizu, Nyaughty, Ulli, Strawberry and the Lalafell Totally-not-Pedo gang, et al- but since people DFE stuff constantly in the FF14 community overall, it'd be hard to collect receipts) and how a vast majority of face mods make a character (usually females) look like a generic BJD with a punchable face. And that's not even getting into outfit mods, either.

There's also a small overlap with the Sims 4 modding community, usually drama (because what else would it be?) with FF14 modders "stealing" TS4 CC's hair meshes and repurposing them for FF14, but I haven't heard of any huge blow-ups between communities as of late.

The trailer for the Horse Riding EP hasn't gotten the best reception from players, and what do SimGurus decide to do? They go back to their old tried-and-true play of saying something stupid on social media:

From what I understand, they work for EA and get paid for doing... something. But this guy could come up with something wittier, come on.

It's not the first time EA releases a pack with stuff they copied from custom content. The good thing is that content creators can't do anything about it. They can't sue EA for copyright infringement or some shit.
Greedy jews, I wish they cried more about it.

For those who don’t know, Pleasant Sims aka Cindy was a pretty big name in the Sims 2 community for a few years due to her informative youtube videos (archive) and website (archive). Her guides are still often cited online.

She eventually quit making Sims content and transitioned into vlogging full-time. Started off normal. Lost a baby, her husband (Andrew) left for another woman he got pregnant, things spiraled out of control from there.

A snark subreddit (archive) was formed and they recently found her ex husband’s reddit accounts (archive of snark sub post) (andrew's posts, as they were originally uploaded by the snark sub on mega. don't know how to use the wayback machine on mega unfortunately), revealing how Cindy abused him over the course of their marriage. As summarized on the snark subreddit:

  • She used sex as a weapon against him. He wasn’t allowed to refuse sex without her getting upset. He wasn’t allowed to try new positions or do something different without being accused of cheating on her.

  • Speaking of cheating, Cindy accused him of cheating on her A LOT. Over anything. Including him just being in a different room at home where she couldn’t see him.

  • She never did anything for Andrew. Never got him gifts unless she was “supposed” to (holidays, etc.). When he tried bringing this up with her, she picked a random food off his grocery list and tried to pass that off as a token of affection. But she was quick to complain about it if Andrew didn’t spoil her enough.

  • He was only allowed to like the things she liked and approved of. They only did the things she wanted to do together. She got upset if he suggested anything he wanted to do if it didn’t perfectly align with her interests.

  • She was very financially abusive. She controlled all of the income that came into the household. She was allowed to spend however much she wanted at her whim, while she only granted him a small allowance.

  • He always had to answer his phone when she was contacting him ASAP (including when he was at work) or she would have a meltdown.

  • He was responsible for taking care of their animals because Cindy never wanted to (unless it was for a vlog). When asked to, she would simply refuse.

  • She would get jealous and accuse him of cheating anytime he so much as looked in another woman’s general direction.

  • Right up until Cindy decided to start making “homemaker” content, she never lifted a finger around the house and Andrew was responsible for all of the dishes/laundry/etc. If he didn’t keep their home clean despite working 40 hours a week, she would have a meltdown.

  • He was not allowed to go anywhere without her permission and if he did leave the house, she enforced a curfew with him.

  • She abused his sleep cycle and purposefully refused to spend time with him when he had free time during the day because she wanted him to “be productive” instead. She would instead wait until after he worked long hours and came home exhausted to want to spend time together, and she would have a meltdown if he was tired or started to doze off. He could only sleep when she approved of it.

  • She often threatened to divorce him during her meltdowns.

  • Cindy actively didn’t want Andrew to seek therapy. He suspects it’s because it would make him realize how abusive she really was.

  • One of the reasons Andrew expressed being afraid of leaving her sooner was the possibility of her stalking him.

  • Andrew’s affair started a year ago. He sees it as the other woman helping him escape his marriage. He has expressed that his relationship with this woman is healthy and gives him agency over his own decisions for the first time since he was 20 (before he got with Cindy).

  • Cindy prohibited him from having female friends altogether.

This reveal caused a big stir.

Cindy then confirmed that the reddit posts were real and admitted to being abusive in a livestream (mirror link). In the livestream she claimed to be taking "full accountability" for her abuse. The livestream was monetized and she accepted donations during it.

She’s now seemingly back to normal content.

She's not really sims-related anymore, but she used to have such a big impact on the community that I thought it was worth bringing up.

seriously? Half his posts are whining that she's accusing him of cheating but he was cheating?? Everyone has been going after her for years and nitpicking every word and he's somehow a poor little guy who dindu nuffin, and we can believe everything he said. It sounds like they both sucked and neither one of them is telling the whole truth. He realized she's psycho only after she had a miscarriage and he had a new woman to branch swing to cause he's probably got a matching mental illness himself and can't handle being alone for 5 seconds.
