Generally, 'pretty' usually refers to leaving the head and face intact or arranging the entrails in an aesthetically appealing manner. Sometimes this is drawn, but I've seen photos. It's usually done with careful fakes or roadkill.

It's supposed to represent a blood flow thing. You can more easily notice it on people who are as white as a sheet of paper but it's just a slight red tint you might miss and not some bright red. I don't know if anyone knows how the art style spread on Tumblr.
