I might be remembering wrong, but when the US pulled out of Afghanistan, all the military weapons/intelligence/equipment was left there for the Taliban to swoop up and use however they pleased, right? Palestine now has their support, among others. I'm thinking the reason they're going so hard is because they've been brewing up their forces for a while and now they think they're in a position where they can go full on offense against Isreal and actually stand a chance as long as they strike as heavy as possible and don't stop until they have enough leverage with hostages and claimed territory. Looking at what happened this weekend (in addition to all these videos of Pali support marches from all over the world and the embarrassing state of the US military), I can see why they're cocky.

There's literally NO WAY they didn't know this was going to happen, and it plays right into every single one of Israel's goals in relation to Gaza and the Palestinian Question. They've been presented the "final solution" to this question on a silver platter, and with a bombardment of news stories and twitter screencaps of raped and murdered girls being shoved at Western/foreign audiences no one is going to question or protest against them going full slaughter-mode on people that they've been trying to eradicate for the past 70+ years.
When was the last time that actually happened? The only group allowed to stick around is going to be a proxy puppet anyway. No, the only way this ends is a population exchange. Jews and Muslims don't convert each other and there's nothing in their respective cultures that actively encourages it. I can't see it happening, just from skimming the comments on social media most of the popular ones are along the lines of "now report on what Israel does". Ukraine was a bit of a blank slate, most regular people never thought about it and didn't really have an opinion on it before the war so it was easy to get people riled up over a seemingly unprovoked attack by Russia. Palestine, on the other hand, has had years of being painted as a disenfranchised with terms like apartheid and genocide being thrown around. It's hard to get normies riled up when most of them can remember reports from not that long ago of Israeli soldiers shooting Palestinian children and medics across the border.
It could happen, given the planning that went to the operation yesterday I wouldn't be surprised if Hamas is waiting for the ground invasion of Gaza to start to open up a second front in the West Bank, maybe perform a smaller scale raid or just some random attacks, even if it goes nowhere it might be enough to force the IDF to redeploy forces there from Gaza or to call up more reservists.
