On that note: Egypt has closed the only border crossing from Egypt to Gaza. So what is left are the tunnels to Gaza if said tunnels are still open. I heard rumors of Egypt having sealed these tunnels as well so it seems as if Gaza is now completly cut from any supplies. If this is all true it makes the call for an armistice by the Hamas even more telling.

The groundwork for the yewish state actually began in the 1850s, with medium and large-scale purchases of land by various individuals and organizations soon after. They were laying the foundation of a nation a long time before 1948.

In point of fact the adjacent, uncategoried, unwanted [Hashemite cast-off] Arab leftovers - the descendants of whom make up something like 80% of the Gaza/West Bank squatter population - were only there because they were drawn from other parts of the ME, mostly Egypt and what would become Saudi Arabia, Syria and Transjordan aka Arab Palestine, to what would become Jewish Palestine [later the State of Israel] because of the opportunities provided by all the work being done to create a nation from scratch.

Also, a good bit of this started while the area was still part of the Ottoman Empire and the various populations went about their business on relative peace.
