Maybe a little OT, but I'm genuinely curious; is anyone else somewhat surprised by the woke crowd not even just taking sides, but vehemently backing Palestine right now at the expense of being what they would call people "antisemitic" and "literal Nazis" for way fucking less? Maybe I'm frequenting the wrong threads, but I've extremely rarely seen people throwing out Zionist and definitely not "gas the jews" before the last few days. I know jews have kept stating antisemitism is on the rise for a while now and I thought they were being hysterical, but maybe I've just been missing it?

The thing is Israelis have survived for decades feigning victimhood whilst being in points of power. It only goes so far though and you can only do so much, Let's be honest Jews fucking scream antisemitism more than blacks yet mostly have privileged positions and wealth.

I just view it as you live long enough to become the villain and Israel is the poster child of that.

How exactly does one do that with “boots on the ground”? Occupy the country and start shuttling people off to Israel to stand trial in a biased court, blacksite them, or shoot them and dump them in the desert? Or all the above? I feel like drones, spec ops, and glowies would be more effective and less costly to Israel.

And how does this solve the problem? The conditions that created Hamas are still there, there will just be another group like them.

Do you seriously believe the "socio-economic factors" meme too? The conditions that create Hamas is an uncontrolled ghetto and foreign money and supplies. The actual *only* way to stop it is to actually occupy the area. They aren't able to amass thousands of rockets, drones, and guns because socio-economic factors. They're able to do so because Israel stuck to mostly watching the border and trying to intercept weapons deliveries.

It’s like when we destroyed Al Qaeda and they turn into Al Shabab and ISIS. You need to address the source of the problem, not just kill a bunch of people. Not saying to not hold anyone accountable, but Israel has been having these issues for decades and killing a bunch of Palestinians and leveling entire blocs isn’t going to be more than a temporary solution. With Israel going all Samson option on Gaza i feel like this is only going to get worse as time goes on.

You cannot control territory without boots on the ground. The United States learned that lesson over and over and over again--there's a reason we spent so much time kicking doors in Falluljah and Mosul and every other hidey hole in Iraq.

There is no good solution to this problem; the real answer would be for both sides to stop telling their kids that their opposites aren't really human and therefore don't count when you massacre them. No amount of money or land or UN programs or Kumbaya-singing festivals will fix a problem that predates the creation of Christendom.

It really does drive these chimps crazy that we live an entire continent away, and not readily available to go full chimp on. They have to settle with shit talking on a chinese app, in the middle of no mans land.

They finally found a way to enact mass terror in 2001, and even then it took YEARS of planning/resources. (And haven't been able to replicate since)
