As I mentioned previously, OB/GYN's prescribe progesterone supplementation both pre&postconception to women with a history of recurrent miscarriages because A) sometimes it works and B) they can't do fuck all else.

But I doubt they even bother to test these women's progesterone levels (which is a fool's errand to collect and interpret anyhow). And they are supplementing these women regardless of the test results if they are even testing in the first place.

We don't say that people with old injuries on oxy have an "opioid deficiency" or that Type II diabetics have an "insulin deficiency" (Type I diabetics arguably do).

I'd argue that a clinical deficiency requires
- a measurable level of a physiological marker with an accepted reference range
- an objective test to prove an individual falls outside of it
- a common symptom pattern typically observed in individuals with measurable deficits in said marker
- amelioration of the observed symptom pattern upon replacement or treatment with objective measurement of return of said marker to the reference range

In the case of progesterone for miscarriage prevention, the missing factor is objective diagnostic testing showing the deficiency and the fact that it is used as a universal strategy, not just a subpopulation of women found to be objectively deficient.

Is progesterone applied like some testosterone supplements where it’s topical and you have to wipe down anything you touch because it can be absorbed by others? If so between the drinking and absorbing a hormone magnified by estrogen I think we might have found the source of Nicks change of behavior
