We will never see another slim console with a disc drive ever again. You're better off following a mini ITX build guide than expecting a modern console maker to do anything "slim"

I imagine the disc drive would take up a fair bit of space. We will never see another slim console with a disc drive ever again.
Wait until they drop the refresh. The existing models will probably be marked down a decent chunk.I'm seeing Xbox Series Xs on sale with Amazon Prime. I'm tempted, but it's still a few hundred dollars of an expense.
Prebuilt PC prices are kind of insane right now. That's really the most direct competitor to the consoles and we're talking 2-3x the price for something comparable to what the XSX and PS5 can do. Obviously you can save a lot by putting together a PC yourself but normies aren't going to do that.I don't see why anybody is even considering these consoles. At most, maybe by the end of this generation, it'll at least be cheap and probably have a few actual exclusives by then.
Yes. It's one single console now, just sold in two different configurations - one with a disc drive installed and a proper face plate and one without a disc drive installed. You'll be able to buy the disc drive separately but it's like $20 more buying it separately than you would have paid for it bundled.I imagine the disc drive would take up a fair bit of space.
Am I crazy or is the disc drive for the PS5 Slim detachable?
MS wants complete control of everything. Publishing, distribution and who makes games. They're as bad as Apple or Amazon. Fuck the digital only future.Minisforum is the one I know off the top of my head that does the micro PC stuff with AMD APUs and is also not absolute garbage.
Series X is dropping the disc drive starting in 2024. From what I understand, Microsoft is beginning their official deprecation of physical media on Xbox. Every time I've gone to a store that sells videogames in the past few years, the Xbox's retail space has been getting smaller and smaller so I think the relationship between MS and the brick-and-mortar retailers is not very good.
I'm going to go maximum contrarian and say that the version with a hard drive bay was the GOAT simply because you could easily mod it and toss a chonky drive in there to play the 100s of PS2 ISOs you got off usenet back in the day.
I don't game on PC and there are multi platform games I want to play. The only Xbox exclusive I was interested in was Scorn and that's on PS4 now.I don't see why anybody is even considering these consoles. Unless you need top of the line performance just get a Steam Deck. There's stronger Steam Deck competitors too, but those can get pricey.Prebuilt PC prices are kind of insane right now.
I only ever dabbled in PC gaming myself until Steam Deck, I'd just suggest that personally, but people can of course do what they want.I don't game on PC and there are multi platform games I want to play. The only Xbox exclusive I was interested in was Scorn and that's on PS4 now.
Now I'm even more tempted. I definitely want to play the new Forza Motorsport and Starfield. I'll sleep on it, how's that?Wait until they drop the refresh. The existing models will probably be marked down a decent chunk.
Digital is a hard no from me, no matter what the platform.I only ever dabbled in PC gaming myself until Steam Deck, I'd just suggest that personally, but people can of course do what they want.
I do ostensibly agree, but it mostly comes down to the specific situation you're in. A lot of people don't care about portability, want at least 2k gaming, and have a pre-existing collection of shit so the consoles are a no-brainer.Unless you need top of the line performance just get a Steam Deck. When i heard Gamestop was investing in NFTs, for a brief moment I thought they planned to propose a blockchain licensing system that would allow people to trade and sell their game licenses to others at whatever price they chose.Digital is a hard no from me, no matter what the platform.
Any digital purchases just help companies like MS achieve the dystopia they want.
I prefer gaming on a big TV to handhelds, just my personal preference. I don't think modern action games work well on them and I prefer playing a JRPG on a big TV. I don't use my TV except for gaming any more because modern TV is shit so I might as well use it for something.I do ostensibly agree, but it mostly comes down to the specific situation you're in. This may be haram to say but I thought Quiet's face was kind of ugly in-game, especially compared to her actress, who's very pretty. He actually did modify Quiet's face scan so that it didn't look 1-to-1 like her actress, but then he brought the same actress back to play two characters (twins) in Death Stranding, and those characters' faces weren't modified at all. But then again, every real world actor had their faces left unmodified in that game, since Kojima clearly wanted you to recognize who was playing the characters.
I guess she was still dating Harry when she kissed Spider-Man. Well to quote Norman Osborn, "They're all beautiful until they're snarling after your trust fund like a pack of ravening wolves... A word to the not so wise about your little girlfriend, Do what you need to with her, then broom her fast."That's the one where she kissed another guy and fantasized about the moment with her boyfriend, right? She belonged to the streets since day one.
I prefer DRM-free digital. Physical is still full of DRM and degrades too easily. If I buy a game from something like GOG I can make backups that'll last as long as the storage medium I put them on.Digital is a hard no from me, no matter what the platform.
She had a grussy in Death StrandingThis may be haram to say but I thought Quiet's face was kind of ugly in-game, especially compared to her actress, who's very pretty.
I keep hearing that yet I have 25+ year old PS1 games that work just fine.I prefer DRM-free digital. Physical is still full of DRM and degrades too easily.
Bayonetta was always just a decent DMC clone that wasn’t anything special. If I wanted a quality platinum game, I’d replay Vanquish, MGR, or Nier Automata.I just want to add onto this: the main demographic that even talks about this series at this point is the queers saying the game was always a gay icon among other bullshit that have at most played her in Smash. Almost no one who talks about this game, ever played this game. It was an okay title on the 360 and every other entry sucked. No one even had a Wii U to play 2 at its launch either but almost everyone who actually played the series that talks about it bought it as one of the four games they owned in their time owning a Wii U.
It's special to me. Look at her.Bayonetta was always just a decent DMC clone that wasn’t anything special.
I definitely can’t deny that I want her to be my mummy. It's special to me. Look at her.
The original Bayonetta was just played by people who hated nu-Dante and thought it would be better. It ended up just as mediocre. Vanquish is one of the games I feel like one of the seven people who played it on the 360 and not its various rereleases.Bayonetta was always just a decent DMC clone that wasn’t anything special. I genuinely didn't know Vanquish or Metal Gear Rising were made by Platinum until after I played them. And I don't think I've actually played any of Platinum's other games. The original Bayonetta was just played by people who hated nu-Dante and thought it would be better. It ended up just as mediocre. Edit: I'm aware it sold decently but you just never heard anyone talk about it after a month post-launch until the rereleases and suddenly it was a deluge of people talking about how it was the best thing ever because Platinum's more recent status as being great despite there being more misses than hits, especially their early titles. Madworld, Anarchy, and that 3DS game weren't awful but just okay.
