because japan is the cool hip destination for anyone with affluence. it is seen as the cool beautiful magical place to live and work. this is 100x more true if the person is an anime fan. as soon as people watch anime it seems to flip a trigger and they immediately want to travel to the country. personally i dont get it. sure japan looks fine, but there isnt anything special about it to make me want to live there.

yeah that is the thing, even in milder climates in the west with access to showers, soap, deodorant, and a non stinky diet, they still smell.
