honestly, I might sound MATI, but this genuinely proves to me that trannies really have ruined tumblr to a degree it'll never come back from. like, I know tumblr was always dog shit, but growing up on it as a teenage girl into stupid nerd shit and knowing you were surrounded almost entirely by other teenage girls like yourself was strangely freeing, especially when you were 14 years old and you thought you were The Most Misunderstood Teenage Girl In The World Ever.

even back a few years ago when tumblr was still in that in-between phase where a few people were coming back and trying the website out again, it wasn't so bad - from what I saw, it was kind of pretentious with a big shift into niche interests and screenshots of Mary Oliver poems or whatever, but it felt like it had begun to move away from the hardcore SJW shit. like, there were tankies and troons and whatever, but they didn't feel like the majority - just a weird one-off thing you might stumble across one day and look through for a bit of amusement before you closed the tab and forgot about it.

now, though, it genuinely does feel the most absolutely unusable it ever has - more so even than during the peak of the SJW days, or the peak of quirky xD fandom tumblr when they'd cover the dashboard in pictures of Misha Collins or whatever for April Fools. now, you might see an okay post, and then you'll look at the URL it was posted by and it'll literally be 'cisfemoidsshouldchokeonmyunwashedsmellytgirldick' and it makes you feel fucking bonkers because nobody else has shit to say about it. your dashboard will be filled with tranny shit no matter how hard you filter it out or what apps or extensions you download. it is INESCAPABLE in a way no other website is. the site is swarming with disgusting fucking pornrotted faggot tranny scrotes every single way you turn. the pooners aren't as bad as the AGPs, but they're similarly cockroachy in the way they wriggle into shit you like - poetry, vidya, academic-related shit, aesthetics, it literally does not matter - and refuse to leave. troons have taken over the site to a degree I find hard to believe. even if you report their posts where they describe wanting to rape women or where they post their chodes, it won't get removed. the whole site is absolutely unsalvageable. honestly, it makes me weirdly sad. Like you, I abandoned Tumblr years ago, but that period you're describing had one glorious moment in 2020 when "Destiel" became canon and Tumblr lost its shit.
