There's some very beautiful parts of Israel. It's not just desert.



It's not going to look like a Scandinavian pine forest, because it's a Mediterranean climate. You're only really seeing Southern Israel because that's where the conflicts are. This is part of the reason the Palestinian Arabs weren't super thrilled by the land they ended up with (yeah it was partially their fault) since all the good arable land etc tends to be Israeli.

Arab-Jew relations can always backslide. Which is why the Jews should have built their country in Utah instead. But since they committed to the profoundly tragic decision to live in Israel, they're stuck having to deal with the real-politick of four different countries that would invade if they had the ability. Hamas opposing people leaving makes sense, on some level. One way or another Israel is going to ethnically cleanse the area, ensuring that its future is for jewish settlers only. Leaving means the people abandoning everything they have, while Israel quickly takes what they want, while staying means Israel will have to justify killing 2 million people in retaliation for 250.

If I had to be the Israeli Press Secretary, here are my talking points:

1. Hamas is not a signatory to the Geneva Conventions. They do not even try to put on uniforms or take POWs. They prefer to execute them like halal meat. If possible, I would post uncensored photos and videos from Hamas's website.
2. Hamas are using modern military weapons such as anti-tank drones and air defense rockets.
3. Hamas continue to use civilian buildings to protect their military assets to manipulate gullible journalists and human rights advocates.
4. Hamas's charter calls for the destruction of Israel. They then commit acts to kill non-Palestinians. They propagandize their children to kill. Show the video of Assoud the Rabbit and other such obvious propaganda.

Therefore, everyone in the Gaza Strip is an enemy combatant.

I would not talk about Iran at this time to allow them plausible deniability by saying that Iran's suspected involvement is under investigation. No point in starting another war until this one is finished.

Yep! The first photo is from the Birya forest, nearish Galilee too. That last one is Beit Yanai, which is on the Mediterranean coast south of Haifa. I spent a wonderful summer in Israel when I was young. I also separately visited Jordan and Lebanon and they were beautiful too, but that was on a different passport.

People already mentioned in the thread that the climate there changed since Biblical times (also why the Shah of Iran planted a temporary forest around the ruins of Persepolis in the desert for his party) - you can see why the Israelites saw it as the land of milk and honey if the whole area used to be like that.

I do get this part, but also they aren’t going to spam graphic dead infant photos to pacify all the conspiracy theorists, especially when we all know that nothing they ever release will actually stop or change the mind of every schizoposter. If they do post tons of photos, it’s just “obviously AI or photoshop”. If they give a list of names, it’s just “those are made up”. If there’s crying parents on CNN, it’s just “crisis actors”. If they literally filmed Hamas slaughtering infants, there would still be some weirdos out there saying “this could be deepfaked CGI shit” or “and how do we know that baby is Israeli and this isn’t an old video of something else?”. There’s no amount of proof that could actually convince and quiet every last conspiracy theorist. It’s kind of a losing effort either way, so I don’t think it’s really worth further traumatizing the families of dead babies by spreading pics of the bloodied corpses all over the internet.

That said, I get your point and have zero trust in any government. I just don’t know how, at this point, they could ever regain our trust completely and provide any proof that would be universally believed. So is there really any point?

This is kinda why conspiracy theorists are part of the problem with government transparency. They are so irrational that, like you say, nothing will satisfy them, so normal, reasonable people who don't obsess over this stuff will just say, regardless of whether or not what the government is putting out is true, "Those conspiracy theorists are being screeching autists, why would I ever side with them?" I also have no faith in the conspiracy theorists (despite the "EVERY CONSPIRACY THEORY FROM THE LAST 20 YEARS HAS PROVEN TRUE" cry with stuff coming out about COVID and whatnot, but, again, REASONABLE people were calling that out, including American senators and medical doctors) because they all ate up the entirety of the alien stuff the government put out a few months ago to distract from Hunter Biden. They have the most confirmation bias of any group. You can tell the average age and IQ of posters in this thread by how irrationally angry they are at Israel.

P.S.: If "JEWS CONTROL EVERYTHING", why is it that literally every college in the US (a country with only a 1% Muslim population) is holding humongous pro-Palestinian/Hamas rallies with impunity as rich Jews pull donations from schools left and right?
