I'm of the personal opinion that gibbing out humanitarian aid in the form of food, medicine and expert support for civil engineering projects is good, but handing out gibs in the form of weapons and military aid is bad. In an ideal world nationalism would be at the forefront of every sovereign nation's foreign policy such that the progress and interests of those people at home supercede all else; in general, military interference in foreign conflicts is anithesis to that idea. While the amount of money sent may only be a fraction of the budget, there are still very, very many people in the US on the cusp of homelessness where one major personal happening could spell the end for them and many, many others who are there already. Not to suggest that giving those in that position direct access to that money is the right course of action, but it does often seem that US politicians are more concerned with sending the money of its people to fund wars in foreign nations then they care at all about helping those they have in immense sufferring at home. Besides that, inserting oneself into the conflicts of others tends to create more problems down the road as the people on the recieving end of the rifle barrel develop generational resentments against those nations who took up arms against them and that grudge often builds to a cresendo inevitably spilling over into future violent conflict. The only away to avoid such a result is to end them entirely or to fully absorb their society and essentially reprogram their belief and value systems, but niether option is palatable to modern sensibilities and so instead we harshly beat them down and then simply walk away while wagging our fingers at them leaving them to stew in their hatred as they slowly rebuild and plan retaliation. This war will likely end the same. Hamas the specific organization might die out, but there is a strong chance their goals will be continued as very many of the Palestinians fleeing south will remember this. They will remember the deaths of their friends and families, they will remember the ever expanding seizure of their ancestral land and no doubt the next time they attempt retaliation it will be significantly more drastic.I hope the US doubles its gibs to Israel

US government steals money from you (taxation) -> US government gives that money to Israel -> Israel uses that money to buy tanks, guns, bombs, etc. from private defense contractors in America
why does it matter, all of it is either money stolen from the american citizenry sent to a foreign nation so they can put that money into the hands of the military industrial complex, OR it is deficit spending of money the federal government doesn't have lent from a foreign creditor like China.

actually prioritizing the citizen would entail using all of the money to help your citizens instead of backing proxy wars halfway across the world. What a novel concept I know. East Palestine is still a fucking poisoned wasteland and people in Maui have no homes but no it's definitely in our best interest to keep backing proxy wars in the middle east and Europe for some reason.
