2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

I will do that when Josh finally partitions the discussion between the JIDF thread (this one) and a non-JIDF thread

why are you responding to messages that were directed at diggs, unless that is one of your sock accounts?

EDIT: the fact that an obvious propaganda post like this would get highlighted in the thread just further proves my point that this has officially become the JIDF/hasbara thread and the discussion should be partitioned just like in the Russia/Ukraine threads

Log off, retard.

So Kiwis in your IRL lives what's the room temp for this conflict? Are they pro Israel pro palestine/Hamas? What's the gauge?
My friend got drafted into the IDF as a reservist and he gives less of a fuck about this conflict than most people in this thread. He just wants to go back to his job because his feet hurt from wearing boots all day.

All pro Israel.
According to this UN map from 2018

There are 6 hospitals and almost 2 dozen "primary care clinics" in the region of Gaza that Israel has ordered to evacuate
I was just wondering whether that just extended to one hospital, because you have to assume they all have the same issues.

The only one who cares in the slightest is my dad who has only expressed the same opinion he's expressed for decades re: Israel, the US should not have stopped Israel in 1967 or 1973 (and by implication should not stop Israel now)

I live in a very Jewish town (they’re like 13% of the population) so around here it’s mainly pro-Israel (and people are extremely passionate and angry about it). My mother, who is normally apolitical and pretty much a hippie that hates all war, happens to work at a Jewish preschool and the fact that they had to triple security because a “jihad day” death threat was called in to a place full of literal TODDLERS has my mom at the point where she’s like “alright Israel needs to bulldoze these fuckers and Trump was right about us needing a Muslim ban.” I’ve honestly never seen her so pissed and hateful, the goatfuckers really seem to have broken her.

Also our local highschool had some drama because while it’s like 15% Jewish, there were 5 or so Arab kids in the hallways waving the Palestinian flag and yelling offensive shit. School ended up deciding to cancel all today’s sports games because of all the tension and the “Jihad day” threats. Even the ultra libbed out families around here are so bummed about the tension and threats and inconvenience of all of this that they seem to have no fucks left to give for any of the gazans or their supporters.

I know one Palestinian family in the neighborhood and reached out to see how they’re doing. They said they kept their kids home from school this week since people are just so angry and they were worried for their safety. Sad, dark shit on both sides of the spectrum.

I have an Arabic in-law who has been so pro-Palestine for years that she has artwork of Linda Sarsour hanging in her house. She was born and raised in America, extremely liberal, no longer wears a hijab, is tattooed and pansexual, samples alcohol/pork, and is married to a white Catholic man, but thinks she would be welcome in Palestine. She has been posting social media stories in support of Hamas and Palestinians but doesn't have the balls to post anything permanent on a main page. I live near one of the biggest Arabic/Muslim diasporas in the country which is where she is from, so many mutual friends have the same opinion.

However, they are a minority. Apart from their 5%, I'd say 70% of people around me irl are pro-civilian without taking a side and 25% are pro-Israel. The ones who posted pro-Palestine messages early on are beginning to delete and shut down conversation.

Notably, a lot of my friends who ordinarily mouth off about political topics and always have an opinion, are dead silent on taking a side on this issue. I think they're too afraid of making a public statement one way or another for fear of someone screencapping or arguing with them about it.

Fuck me. I didn't expect life in a war-torn shithole to produce many award winning models but to look like that at 21... Guy wasn't even alive for the start of the 2nd intifada and 9/11 and was probably too young to even understand what was going on until at least the 3rd intifada in 2014.
Goddamn....my problems seem very very small now.
