a mobile phone without a network is a pocket computer that can play music, send emergency phone calls by keeping it charged and in the car or backpack on trips, take and view photos or video, take voice memos, and can act as a wifi hotspot for desktops or something. you can also donate it to a shelter to ensure that someone that might use a working emergency phone has one.

Polissa got a new phone a month ago. Did Joh not get a new phone too then? Polissa has an Obamaphone plan. Not sure about Josh. They both use 5G so their phones are/were new enough to be compatible with it. (Though I do agree, planned obsolesce fucking sucks. Future proofing can only go so far.)

It’s kind of hard to be sympathetic to Josh specifically when we’ve never heard of him trying to control his diabetes.

It's hard to be sympathetic to anyone who engages in self-destructive behavior and doubles down when anyone makes or suggests efforts to put it behind them. Josh would rather be an internet tough guy than do anything that would help himself in any sort of meaningful way.

Insulin is insanely expensive, but it's just so weird it never gets mentioned. If he has diabetes, someone has told him what a big deal it is.

I don't know if states are reducing insulin costs for those on Medicaid, but Medicare has reduced the cost to $35/month if I recall and some states are considering legislation to ensure insulin stays as cheap on a statewide level. Still, the point that medication in the US an be expensive even with insurance is valid.

You can have what life should be. I think calling it an "ideal" is just peak Republican retardation. It delays responsibility for fellow man, because it's just this abstract ideal. I think you're someone who values healthcare being accessible rather than idealizing it and not understanding the cost, so if what I say comes across as condescending, it's not because I don't have the wisdom to know you have the wisdom to know the difference.

We don't have that in America, and it really boils down to really tough choices. Do you reward a Mexican woman trying to make a better life by having an anchor baby by making sure she and her child can have access to things like healthcare, shelter, food, and clean water at the cost of guys like Joh? What if she's a drug addict? Does that negate everything she's doing? Yes, it's unfair Joh doesn't have access to healthcare, but with limited resources, you have to make choices. I am okay with a man who has made the decisions Joh has made going to the back of the line. I will go sleep and if Polissa posts a begging livestream of Joh dying, with Joh saying he wasted his life by not fighting for universal healthcare, I will make some prolific reply that says, "lol dumb," and then I'll go to sleep where I will sleep fine until someone wakes me up.

This gets into some Christian spergery, but we are all the same, so it only makes sense to give to the least of us first when there are limited supplies. I guess I am at a point in my life where it's not so much a "grim reality" as simply the way things are, and when I look at Joh, it isn't even a bitter pill to swallow.

She's looking forward to the Witches Ride next week. Her cauldron "is full of goodies," but she wants even more candy and plastic crap on the claims that she wants to "spread the wealth" to other event participants. According to her, most people ran out of candy halfway through the parade (which is six blocks long), and she doesn't want a repeat of last year. Think of the little children!

Details of the parade: "We start at Wilson Park, and we go to Court Street, and around Court Street back to Wilson Park." Admits that it's "not an easy walk for [her.]" But she will do it because she "loves kids" and "it's for a good cause." She fumbles over saying "it's for a good cause" and blames her "aphasia" for the flub. Mentions Bruce Willis and how Josh calls her "Ziba" from "you know, I think NCIS!" (The character she mentioned is Ziva David from NCIS, by the way). Goes back to mentioning how excited she is for the Witches Ride and explains again what the Imagination Library is. Refers to children as "littles" while plugging the charity. (Is that TikTok speak? I really hope so because I associate "little" with that Daddy/Little bdsm shit that was popular a few years back)

Costume update: finished making her broom the night that she recorded this. She really wants to win the best broom contest. Describes herself as "competitive." Also finished her hat the night that she recorded this. The Princess Fiona dress is being recycled for this event because the dress she wanted to wear this year was "not what [she] thought [she] was getting." She slightly altered it so that all the costume pieces come together, so "it's all good." This year's broom is new because she burned her last one after finding a Black Widow in it. Witch cackles afterwards. (3:40 if you want to hear this account for yourself.) Witches Broom 2023 edition has been festooned with eucalyptus in an attempt to ward off spiders. Costume may be revealed on Friday the 13th, which is the day of her next event...

...Which is a Samhain event but is really more a craft show themed around Friday the 13th? The way she explains it is pretty poorly conveyed because of her purple prose. Not to mention that Samhain (which Polissa actually pronounces correctly) is on Halloween/November 1? Regardless, Polissa is excited because she has three events coming up: Samhain Artist Show on Friday the 13th, Witches Ride on the 19th, and Alabama Renaissance Faire on the 28/29th. Invites people from the Southeast to attend the free festival and maybe meet her in person despite that she doesn't know exactly when she's attending or that she may only be there for an hour max if she actually goes. She loves her new Witches Ride costume so much that she will rewear it to the Ren Faire.

Repeats that she's excited for the events coming up, especially so she can hang out with all the other witches at the Witches Ride. "Looking forward to seeing you and all of your littles!"

Then she posted a couple more "cauldron ASMRs" that show that she got even more toys and erasers, more than this cauldron can hold when combined
