Yes yes very cute.

Assuming that there were no copyright laws, then the driving force behind sales will be the quality and price of the product. If you're gonna offer something that has a low res screencap with part of the shirt from the preview, it's already inferior to the product that has the original transparent image that blends with the shirt itself.

Then assuming that you have the original transparent PNG, then if your shirt itself is of inferior quality, then no one will buy your shirts. And finally, people will be more willing to support the guy who started selling it first and that people know he's worth supporting rather than a complete nobody.

Copyright law doesn't directly drive sales. The quality of the product, the price to quality ratio, the person selling the product, those are the real driving factors. The only thing it can achieve in theory is stop plagiarism, but even then sites like Redbubble and Wish exist, leech off of other's intellectual property and nothing ever happens to them.

This is as much of an idiotic fallacy as the assumption that if piracy was destroyed people would suddenly be buying all media en masse, while in reality the sales would barely budge forwards compared to the time there was rampant piracy, because no one was willing to pay for those products in the first place anyway.

It doesn't pass the Turing test, it never will. It is already lifeless. This is to beak you to step in line with the rest of the crowd, little by little. To instill a bit of doubt of being able to acess these tools by pressuring you into giving a fake apology with canned apologies. To get you to increase your 'social credit' so you can be a good boy citizen by not doing 'bad things' decided by those who rule over you.

The patches I received were great quality.

Really great stream today Josh. Someone in chat likened the tale to Shakespeare and it really did feel like that. Sad, completely avoidable, but you know the characters are doomed. I hope his daughters are doing well.

I say it was a really nice stream, Josh, especially a retrospective on how the internet changed but Lowtax was still a piece of shit throughout the change.
One thing I hope maybe for the Gumroad people , is that graph of the influence of Something Awful and seeing how far an accidental genius affected internet culture.
