2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

UN Secretary General, António Guterres, wants Israel to reconsider the 24hr evacuation deadline
Bahrain's crown prince demands humanitarian corridors now now now now now!
Supposedly Biden got Tiab to shut up by promising her the US would abstain from UN votes if Israel acted unconcionably.

He's had two private phone calls to Nentenyahu, and made multiple public statements saying Israel cannot act like Hamas.

Getting censured for certain things is a big deal. Some countries would have to change their laws to mitigate the impact to Israel.
yeah good luck with that.

If UN votes go like they have in the past, it comes down to a single man in the entire world whether they happen.

>make insensitive meme
>get life's work bulldozed
>become prisoner of war
Ah, yes, this is completely fine. How dare people make jokes related to dead/suffering people? The UK should learn from this how to deal with those horrible comedians like Dankula
Wartime propaganda is a thing. And eliminating wartime propaganda from the enemy is a thing too.

You really trust the people in charge? I sure as shit don't

I don't know how to confirm this poster with a sat app. Im wondering if anyone here can check
That doesn't provide enough information at all. A US carrier is about a 1000 feet right? What is the coverage of this particular image? A square mile if that (I bet it is far less than that)? For all I know there could be a destroyer a mile away that you don't see.

I think a guy in China got stabbed too.

Now, this may be a bit conspiratorial, but some Chinese Muslim goes to stab an Israeli embassy worker, who survived and is stable condition. I'm... skeptical.

Not that the attack happened, there's video. But a Muslim Chinese being retarded enough to do it, and not get a clean kill rather than what we saw, or go out and start stabbing other random people before getting wasted

Really feels like Xi wants to ensure TotalMuslimKill in China, probably using this as a justification for some crackdown

Shut the fuck up. The pizzeria did nothing wrong. I hate Muslims, but this was petty and uncalled as hell, on top of being a complete waste of resources. This army does not have anything else to do in this terrorist filled land other than destroy someone's business over a edge Facebook post? This is pure pettiness.
As cruel as it seems, it was probably necessary. Israel is doing a lot to prevent outbreaks of violence against arabs in the west bank and inside Israel. Shit stirring like this is going to get random Palestinians killed. Which will get Israelis killed. Which....

Cool, so when do they censure the Knesset members explicitly calling for Arab extermination?

Watching people cheer shit like this on, on a website that's banned in Russia by Roskomnadzor for the 'Ho-Ho-Holocaust' meme, is really wild. They literally bulldozed a pizza shop over an edgy shitpost - just absolutely insane, petty shit from a country that has the overwhelming firepower advantage. Same thing with the retarded Laura Loomer posts where she's trying to get people fired or harassed for protesting in favor of Hamas - after hearing the same exact people for 6 years (accurately) talk about how cancel culture is incompatible with free speech and democratic self rule. She once came pretty damn close to typing out 'hate speech isn't free speech'. It's like watching the Iraq War or the Covid mentality coalesce again in real time - where if you pointed out that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with Al Qaeda, or talked at all about a lab leak, people just freaked out on you for cheering for the 'bad side' of the conflict. Can't ever add nuance or any bit of depth to the conversation, just 'ra ra ra America/Israel'. Then, months/years later, when it's crystal clear that they were wrong about everything, they wonder how everyone could have agreed on something so dumb before moving on to the next public crisis and doing the exact same shit. I think George Kennan once described the modern American body politic as 'Americanosaurus Rex' - a big angry dinosaur with a tiny brain, that reflexively smashes whatever crisis is in front of it without ever thinking very much about the root causes or the ramifications of their proposed interventions. Glad to see the old dinosaur is still thrashing mindlessly around, goaded on its mass/social media brainworms.
So lets look at this as edgy shitposting. Shitposting is first reliant on recognizing that there are lines. Lines everywhere for everyone and everything. You identify a line and choose whether or not to cross it and by how much. It's like Vegas in that you make a wager on how much lulz you'll get vs whatever the risk involved. With every choice you roll the dice and the pizza memester rolled snake eyes.
You can choose to kick a big, angry hornet nest for a laugh but when that goes south you can't blame the hornets.

Ya know I had to come here to check, did the global jihad suddenly have no balls? I heard about the baguette getting stabbed and that's still horrific to me but considering all the other shit that's been on the daily, isn't that a little light?
I dunno whether that's just because of the reality that's been going on, at least the always on the news stuff, or how threatening I used to find terrorist when I was younger and before the internet.

You guys know jihad just means "struggle" right? Obviously some exceptional individuals decided their struggle included showing a stranger their knife but this was never going to be the massive wave of violence some people seemed to think it was. It was always going to just be most people fighting through protesting.

Back in the 90s, when things were going well, the USSR had fallen, and the world was truly at peace like it hadn't been for a very long time, this went to the head of some thinkers and economists. Francis Fukuyama famously wrote his book The End of History and The Last Man, in which he supposes that everyone will be capitalist from now on, and perhaps nothing overly bad or even interesting would ever happen again.

Similarly, Thomas L Friedman wrote a book The Lexus and the Olive Tree, in which he puts forth the Golden Arches Theory of Conflict Prevention. The idea was that capitalism, with its mutually beneficial relationships of trade, would mean that globalist capitalist countries would no longer find it advantageous to go to war with each other. In other words, "No two countries that both have a McDonald's have ever fought a war against each other."
It is extremely funny to me that not only had this been proven definitively wrong. But it's so wrong that even the McDonalds of different countries are going to war with each other, lmao.
It should be noted that by far the deadliest war since WW2 took place in the late 1990s. Over 5 million people are estimated to have died as a result of the Second Congo War, added on to the earlier Rwandan genocide, First Congo War, and all of the dozens of related subsequent conflicts, not to mention the atrocities and ethnic struggles of the Yugoslavian collapse wars, and a dozen smaller but still significant conflicts around the world. The 90s are often seen as the golden age of the Pax Americana, but that didn't stop millions and millions of terrible, violent deaths from ethnic and national conflict. And if we couldn't stop that in the 90s, we probably never will
