Every time I hear something like this, it just makes me wish that we could redefine North Africa into Eurasia instead of continuing to connect it to the Sub-Saharan territories. Even if just culturally, the fact that North Africa is distinctively Mediterranean means it is rather thoroughly divorced from the rest of Africa's scattered and tribal nature, even before getting into the genetic barrier that was the Sahara.
