I think what you're seeing is there's a tiny minority of users on the site, who mainly hang out in the CG thread, who are convinced independent comics (which includes, but is not limited to, CG) is the worse thing in the world, wanna see the whole thing burned to the ground for laughs, and don't much care who is wielding the flamethrower. I've followed that thread for years. There's some good people in it, but it's also extremely insular (some people post almost exclusively in it), has a relatively small userbase and is, at times, a bit odd.
I don't mind there being a dissenting opinion with respect to July. Discussion is healthy. But they have to realize that it's gonna be a hard sell to convince people who don't GAF about the gay shit that goes on in CG that July is ultimate bad guy here. It's hardly shocking few people are chomping at the bit to be on the same side as Dax the Mexican anti-anti-SJW pimp, Vito the pedophile, Riley the smelly drug dealing stalker, and Nick the grifting lawyer who's almost always wrong in his legal predictions. The documentation on each those fools is far in excess of what exists on July. Their sins are well more known than July's. So, again... the result here is predictable.
If they wanna argue the majority of the site has got it all wrong, that's fine, but they should also be lamenting the fact that the forces arraying against July now are some of the biggest scum known. That doesn't exactly help the case against July. In fact, it seems to mainly serve July. That's
not KF's fault. That's the fault of the scum for involving themselves in this for the shekels and being well-known scum.
