Look, 1) quality tailoring fit for purpose (“fit for purpose” = appropriate to the use) doesn’t rip anymore than the original seams, and 2) if clothes are created for a male body and you have a female body, then a belt is just going to create a bunchy mess that’s going to be distracting; better to have pants that don’t require extraneous elements in order not to fall down.
FFS, people getting exercised about someone getting clothes tailored to fit and not fall down when you’re supposed to be focused on more important things.

If you want military to be laser-focused on the mission (yes), then don’t be a dipshit if they mildly modify the state-issued gear so that they don’t have to hitch shit up when they need to focus.
Tl;dr: tailoring clothes removes the need for additional elements or being held back by stupid clothes falling down. A uniform that actually somewhat fits means that the person wearing it doesn’t have to be distracted by it when doing their fucking job.
(It’s like you’ve never had a waist or hips. There’s a reason women’s clothes are designed differently than men’s.)
