Sony hate thread

We just want ports of the infinitesimal smattering of exclusives left so we can finally let loose and go Total PlayStation Death.
Total Modern Console death sounds better to me. Fuck anything made after 2005 it's all homosexual including that pathetic overpriced """theoretically""" more powerful but most games run and look worse joke PS3 piece of curry stained nigger shit. Xbox 360 last good console.

except for the 3Ds, because that was good. And the PS3 was a mixed bag for me.
I had a DSi XL and original 3DS and didn't like either of them, no fun games. PS2 with Simpsons Hit And Run and Xbox 360 with Portal 2 so much fun though. If only I had BLACK growing up however, would've rocked. If you haven't played you should, it's really cool and very very impressive for the PS2.

Switch is good too. Vita was also a mixed bag, it didn't have a lot of great games but the great ones it did have were really good, like Gravity Rush.

No fun games across both the DS & 3DS libraries? That's nuts. I can only assume it's because of the lack of 3D open world & FPS games based on the games you're mentioning enjoying.

I assume if Sony were after From's talent they would just buy out Kadokawa's share. I'm not sure how the publishing rights works for their IPs but they were able to turn Elden Ring, a completely new IP, into an overnight success so how much does it really matter?

IMO Square Enix is going to be looking for a buyer soon, their business has been in the toilet with too many big failures. Dunno if that would end up being Sony, though, personally I'd rather see Kadokawa absorb them and have them make better games.

Didn't they say last year Sony was buying Fromsoftware also? And how did that go?
Sony bought 14.09 percent of Fromsoft's shares, and then all the snoys on twitter were convinced that Fromsoft was now a Sony studio because of this, they were seriously going on about Elden Ring being first party, I think people posted snips, it was hilarious. At the same time Tencent (sixjoy) bought 16.25 percent.

To be more exact, Sega tried to merge with Bandai (this was prior to the Bandai Namco merger). The reason being that both companies were in dire straights at the time and were looking to bail each other out (Sega was neck deep in the Saturn quagmire, while Bandai had tried to get into video games via the Wonderswan and the Altmark model of the Apple Pippin, only for both to flop massively, which cost the company a lot of money). As a result, both were hoping to combine into a bigger, stronger company. Both CEOs discussed and agreed to the deal, and both boards actually okayed the deal. However, there was a massive, for lack of a better word, full on REVOLT by Bandai's middle management over the deal. The reasons for this were threefold.

First, Bandai's middle management didn't want Sega's CEO Hayao Nakayama to run the combined company, which was the initial plan. They realized he was running Sega into the ground and they didn't want him to take Bandai down as well.

Second, Sega and Bandai had very different management styles. Bandai is very much a traditional Japanese corporation in terms of how its managed. Sega, however, had a more freewheeling American style of management (Sega actually started as an American startup out of Hawaii and was owned by the American CSK corporation for a number of years). Bandai's managers were very happy with their Japanese way of doing things and didn't run to run their company according to Sega's more American ways.

Third, and while last, certainly not least, by the time the deal was agreed upon, Bandai didn't need to merge Sega anymore. By that time, Bandai had released the Tamagotchi, which went on to become a runaway success and effectively saved the company. Sega needed the merger far more than Bandai at this point, so the deal just no longer made economic sense for Bandai to pursue.

So, the deal was cancelled, and both CEOs who had initially agreed to it walked the plank shortly afterward.

Funnily enough, not long after that deal went down, Nintendo bought stock in Bandai themselves, which was reported all over the industry and big news at the time (see here, here, and here for just some examples of the reporting), and this sparked wild speculation that this stock buy was just a prelude to Nintendo making a go for acquiring the company. Makoto Yamashina, the ex-CEO of Bandai who was the one to try to get the merger between Bandai and Sega through, only to resign when that failed, actually came out against Nintendo acquiring Bandai (he was still a major shareholder at the time). I think he was just butt hurt because his attempt to force a merger failed. However, and this is the interesting part, Nintendo never sold that stockholding, and continued to maintain it, even after the Bandai-Namco merger. To this very day, Nintendo is still one of Bandai Namco's largest shareholders, making a takeover by Sony of the latter unlikely, while increasing the chances of a takeover by the former. Nintendo also own Stock in Square Enix, Koei Tecmo, Konami, and Kadokawa. The only major Japanese video game company they own no stock in is Sega.

I like the 7th gen consoles. PS3 felt like an end point of Sony wanting to be anything else besides the cinematic movie machine and the Wii/DS had a unique vibe to them being more casual consoles, a vibe that only the Switch has ever felt slightly inline with. The 8th gen is were consoles really start sucking as PlayStation lost all appeal, XBOX never really had much and Nintendo struggled with the Wii U, which as a console, felt nice, but lacked any software. 3DS and Switch I have no issues with

Except on the Switch
Fair, that Japanese developers have a much higher level of ethics of releasing a product in a functional state (lets ignore gamefreak for a second...) helps keep it simple.
The ironic thing is that Nintendo doesn't have to buy third parties. They come to them because the platforms are so successful comparatively, even MS.
What goes around comes around, Nintendo was the leper in the streets since the N64 onward for third parties till the Switch came out and the Japanese developers that were defacto sony exclusives started being more willing to go to PC while at the same time weren't getting any sort of random censorious shit from Nintendo. That developing a game that looks nice for the Switch is a lot cheaper than one that looks nice for the PS5 also probably did wonders to get people on board as well as the huge install base.

I'm all for shitting on Sony when they deserve it, but if this thread is just going to devolve into a bunch of PeeCee faggots whining about what games they can't play, then make a separate fucking thread.
Heaven forbid that a game releases on a platform that's optimized, free of bloated DRM, and keyboard compatible. The nerve of gamer entitlement.
