I know where the background originated from. I was asking if somebody superimposed Chris' rambling onto it or he did it himself.

Oh without a doubt, there's some manipulation of a doped up Chris Chan happening. The Jesus and Pals bit is too ironic, someone absolutely told him it would've been a good idea. Even the editing feels like it's meant to be just "off" enough that you're supposed to believe it could be Chris's. You don't get public access Tim and Eric editing with audio in only one channel by mistake. Someone else did it for him, and intentionally.
I still had fun with the video, don't get me wrong, but it was without a doubt someone else's idea.

Whoever is doing his editing needs to put his mic in mono.

I believe what you wanted to say is "Whoever is doing his editing needs to learn how to mix mono audio in stereo projects".

The mic is mono, but the Redditard that did the editing didn't understood that if you record something in Audacity as mono and then drop it into a Premiere/Vegas/whatever project it can end up playing only in one channel which is the case here.

It's also something that's trivial to notice if you're not doing this on a Macbook with a single earbud in your ears, but let's not expect this much knowledge about basic video editing from grifters like that.
