Look, I'm not about to deny the fact that the coof messed up schedules as studios had to figure out how to work around the inane restrictions placed on them, especially in California. But Bob is now literally blaming the unpopularity of Captain Resting Bitchface on the coof, because apparently if everything had worked out and he'd gotten his four-times-yearly Marvel slop on schedule, everyone would adore her. Oh and also apparently Chadwick Boseman wouldn't have died of cancer either, because that makes sense.
(I don't think this is actually what Bob means, but he sure did a good job implying "a world without coof is a world where somebody doesn't die of cancer.")
Face it, Bob, capeshit has been on a downturn for years now, and try as you might, you can't fight it.
Oh, so that's the excuse we're going with now, huh? Captain Resting Bitchface isn't a poorly written obnoxious character, she's a STOIC.
Bullshit. I've seen enough clips of Captain Resting Bitchface to know she's as snarky as any other MCU character, only add in Brie Larson looking like she's trying to hold in a fart all the time. The writers made her insufferable, and thus she gets blowback. Male characters written the same way wouldn't get a pass just because they're dudes; see literally every post-Whedon MCU character. You want a stoic, make a fucking stoic, not "generic MCU character that scowls occasionally."
The Creator, contrary to Bob's opinion, was not "REALLY bad." It wasn't the best movie of the year or anything (and as Drinker pointed out in his review, it recycles more than a bit from Rogue One), but it was entertaining enough and managed to move my cold, dead heart a bit, all on a much smaller budget than most blockbusters these days. The biggest issue it had was the lack of marketing; I didn't even know of its existence until I saw it while browsing movie listings, and I didn't bother to see it until a couple weeks later because I had no idea what it was about.
I swear, Bob has got to be the absolute worst film critic. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but he's just so blatantly wrong on everything.
Bob is quite literally the only person I've seen who produces YouTube Shorts (and now TikToks I guess) in this way: take a chunk of a regular video, shrink it down to the middle of a portrait frame, and then put channel advertisements above and below in the otherwise wasted space. Admittedly, I absolutely hate this style of "content" (I want to punch anyone who films things in portrait mode), but even if I despise it, I understand how one would go about making it. The best I can say is that Bob is trying to adapt to the times, but his ineptitude shows just how much farther behind he truly is, in a similar vein as "your grandparents are now on Facebook" was years ago.I avoid TikTok like the plague, so maybe someone can tell me if it's normal for promo channels to devote 2/3rds of the video to still images shilling another site.
