I think it's because he's stuck in a tailspin. He very obviously supports Israel and is horrified with what happened. He kept trying to delineate between West Bank settlers and regular Israeli citizens (who oftentimes don't support Bibi), but he didn't realise he's engaging with people that view all Israelis as settlers, which is why he mentioned that the Gaza settlers left in 2005.

What he thought was a pretty left wing view ("fuck right wing Israelis and fuck settlers") is being received as a right wing settler colonialist viewpoint (because he still strongly believes Israel has a right to exist, which is not an unreasonable viewpoint but is considered one by a lot of his audience).

He's uneasy rowing back because he's personally impacted by the consequences of rowing back and he's married to an Israeli and genuinely supports Israel. So it slips out, like when he had an actual genuine moment and pointed out the drug addict OnlyFans guy would be thrown off a building by Hamas despite praising them.

Honestly the Klein household must be fascinating right now. I can't imagine Hila would have been impressed by his continual caving to Hasan... although at this point I must assume that Hila is just waiting him out for a heart attack or whatever horrible cancer Ozempic gives you.

Yeah, I don't disagree with any of this. It's clear what his views are and they're clearly not even close to right wing. Ironically, his views would not get him cancelled with any sort of mainstream audience or sponsors, unfortunately for him it does with a lot of his audience that he has decided to cater his brand to in recent years. So, I was just looking at it more from the perspective if he wanted to act like a rational business owner. He has clearly cultivated a certain audience, there was an easy way out of all of this without pissing his new crowd off and getting them all riled up to dig in to Hila's past comments about her time with the IDF.

I guess it's whatever mental issues he has that prohibit him from having any form of self control, but the man is damn near 40 years old, has two kids with another one the way and a staff of like 10 podcast employees, he should treat his business more responsibly. If he wanted to just take the easy route as a responsible business owner, all he had to do was just say something inoffensive to his new audience that isn't even in conflict with his real views and he then could have just returned rambling about whatever the latest e-celeb gossip is or stupid tiktok wormhole he found. I guess he would have eventually had to address it with Piker, but again he could have easily just said what's going on is abhorrent and he is against the violence and then laughed about the latest dumb Trump news is.

Now I think he has pissed off a lot of his new audience, a lot of his old audience isn't coming back, and people in the middle are probably mad that he capitulated to Hasan. He's basically getting it from every side. There are probably still enough people in his audience that don't even care about this shit that it won't be a major threat to his livelihood or anything, but I guarantee it will cost him money when he could have just taken the easy way out. He's already cancelled a show, clearly he's going through it mentally with all the tweet deletions. I think his self control problem as a business owner will eventually get him in a place where he has no audience left, even if it's not on this one.

The only thing more exhausting than being an h3h3 fan has to be being Ethan. It's almost enough for me to pity him, but he dug his own grave here and was warned bluntly for years.

An hour in, this angers many in Ethan's chat to the point that he has it temporarily switched off.

If hila really posted that its clear where she stands, you can see that drawing is completely antihamas (the anti netanyahu statement is very small while the hamas murders are front and center, almost like the terrorists murdering babies are more important than an old fart in power who is reacting to the atrocities, at least thats the message the person that made the drawing is trying to convey).
