Well, free speech is two things. The first is a law that prevents the government from shutting you up, it's there so the government doesn't become like fascist and shut down dissent or something.
Other thing is like like a social agreement that everyone can speak their mind. If you think your opinion should be heard as a basic right then naturally it follows other people have this right to free speech as well.
Insulting people to shut up, without refuting an argument, is a problem, and it's bad.
But if your argument is shit and your opponent debunks it thoroughly, then that's on you to go out and change your view, or make a better argument and come back.

Problem is when you want to force artists to change their view because you disagree with their view. Both Gamergate and the SJW are guilty of this.
The subject of the comic, "diversity is needed, stop making sexist games", is stupid. WoW has Orcs, trolls, dwarves, purple night elves, humans, tauren, gnomes, werewolves (humans) goblins, undead (humans), pink blood elves, pandas, high elves (unplayable) korrigans, a race of vikings, a race of pidedal seals, insectoid races, etc... And they STILL complained about black representation in the human race NPCs. And also gays of all races.
Though I am for consistency. If the guy's in full armor, the women needs to have full armor as well. High heels sucks as battle gear, too. Get the girls some nice boots.
As for NPC sex orientation.... doesn't matter who they fuck. Tales of Zestiria had a gay protagonist and his fuckboi Mikleo. They were the main characters and they went way back. It's not even mentioned in the story. Word of God said it IRL. They act like normal people in the game, fight and brofist.
Fuck that shit. If violence in videogame does not entice violent behaviours IRL, why would the other shit entice racist/sexist behaviours IRL? Character are designed to be epitome of cool, doing super attacks, kicking butt. It's a fantasy. On the other hand, if a game wants to touch on SJW oriented subjects, for whatever reason, and it's the developer's view, why not. Just because a character does SJW things doesn't mean it will make people do SJW things IRL. Like violence.

Don't recall hearing anything about that. Until any actual evidence more solid than "I believe I read this somewhere" emerges it can safely be relegated to the big pile of theories that people come up with to try to distance Labelle from their beloved LGBT community.

It'd be complicated though since you'd have tomboys and feminine guys who are happy being the gender they were born and also possibly still have people who by all accounts brain matches their gender but still claim to suffer dysphoria with their gender and it'd be really difficult to go back to it being classified a mental illness with the current political climate.
