Speaking to another kiwi about this but they don't wish to post however I think it should be discussed since Ralph seems vulnerable. They say this is about Nora and the picture is from the Nora years. It would make sense as the tiger metaphor to me was unusual. And when I suggested it was Nora due to the tiger reference they said the picture is from the Nora era.

The reason I thought that is that tigers are an Asian reference. Tigers live in India and have a fearsome human eating reputation. Well earned. The thought of taming it through a jumping circle like a circus also sounds like the start of an Asian aesops fable. A tiger is also a solitary creature.

It's an odd thing but have any of you asked people from proper developing countries in Asia or Africa with non abrahamic beliefs. Asking them what animals they would be often illicits a response along of ",visible offence taken*, no I want to be a human, I have earned this living"

Possible but Nora was British born and raised (also she's Paki, not Indian) if memory serves and Ralph may have misinterpreted the metaphor regardless.

Yes but things like that die hard. It's a cultural reference and since Pakis only fuck and marry their cousins to the point that Pakistan children are over 3x more likely to have a disability.... they tend to keep close knit. And no wonder Nora rebelled. And then decided she was being a retard and instead being a good Asian doctor was probably a good plan all along.

Ralph definitely didn't get the metaphor. It's a curious thing. From other perspectives it would be seen as humilation, there's a Chinese proverb for better to live one day on your feet than a thousand on your knees. However , Nora could have easily misinterpreted it too being 17 and being British rather than actually living in Pakistan.

It also kind of points to a futile future. Like the Scorpion who stings the frog amd they both drown because its a scorpion. A tiger doesn't change his stripes, as much as a leopard changes their spots. A tiger will kill you one day. Because its a tiger. It was just such an odd metaphor to use. And the fact two Asians picked it up from discussion is interesting (another kiwi and myself).

I honestly think if there's any substance to it then yeah, it's all surface-level deep and there's no real hard thinking about it. It's the same thing with idiots getting the infinity symbol or some such nonsense tattooed on themselves; it's all very superficial when you attempt to examine it. I get it that symbolism is meant to be subjective interpretation but when you see people putting it out there in the open and having to explain it then your first reaction should be to notice how pretentious it comes across. Rather, that's the impression I get. Ralph's a tiger? Really?

That's because Ralph is surface level poser fag. He knows about Roman history only what he learned in high school. So he probably read Shakespeare's Caesar and knows about things like The Colosseum. Again, surface level stuff.

If you were to ask him about say, Romulus and Remus, Caesar's campaign against the Gauls, Nero's persecution of the Christians, Germanicus' victories in the Rineland or the two worst emperors in Roman history, Tiberius and Caligula, Ralph would be totally lost.

I mean good for Ralph, probably doesn't want to take his shirt off because he was a big fat guy and now he's not. The man has many evil deeds on his record and I look for opportunities to make fun of him wherever I can but he looks like he's doing good.

My rule with the dude is if he fucks up I make fun of him, and having a nice day at the beach isn't a fuck up.

Maybe there's something to that sonichu demon thing after all.
