Can we stop talking about JDAMs like they're one kind of bomb. It's an entire class of bombs with the only thing in common being dumb bombs retrofitted with guidance. FFS, why is anyone still using them? Did we have that many dumb bombs stored up?Could be, but still looks closer to a JDAM to me.

Like others have said, I don't think Hamas rockets have the power to cause a blast that big, unless caused some kind of secondary explosion.

I think the one constant theme I've seen from people who don't have a dog in the fight has been the sheer improbability of it being a Hamas rocket. The payload isn't large enough to do that much damage (See other pics of Hamas rocket damage), but they claim it was from munitions stored there, yet there aren't any secondary explosions like you see when ammo dumps go off. It broke apart in mid air yet had the velocity and speed to make the sound it had in the video. And if you excuse all of those you have the extremely coincidental chance of a rocket failure over a highly populated target that just happens to be doubling as a Hamas war camp. I've been trying to keep a neutral stance on the incident but it doesn't make any sense no matter how you look at it. If they had said Hamas suicide bombed it to make it look like Israel I'd have believed that a hell of a lot more than this rocket story.Could be, but still looks closer to a JDAM to me.

My point is that I don't think that you can pick what bomb it was from the noise or impact characteristics beyond what size. And that I think Boeing must have a higher profit margin on retrofits than smart bombs. The Backbone of America's strategic bomber fleet was designed during World War 2 and deployed into service almost 100 years ago.
What do you think?
Good answer lolMy point is that I don't think that you can pick what bomb it was from the noise or impact characteristics beyond what size. And that I think Boeing must have a higher profit margin on retrofits than smart bombs.
No way whatever bottlerockets Hamas is firing could have produced a blast like that
Well ackshually, as others mentioned earlier Hamas does have a few bigger rockets:Like others have said, I don't think Hamas rockets have the power to cause a blast that big
Hold up, if you have information saying the B52 was in design stages during World War Two, I want to read them because that would actually be really basedThe Backbone of America's strategic bomber fleet was designed during World War 2 and deployed into service 70 years ago.

This reminds me of the Russian shootdown of a civilian jet in Ukraine back in 2014 - an over-zealous ground crew attacking what they think is a military target without verification, and I think the theory about it being an Army unit fucking up is probably the most likely scenario. Except in this case it will almost absolutely be covered up, unless someone happens to find shrapnel in the rubble with Hebrew markings and a serial number linking it to a specific unit.
People have always just referred to them as JDAM's unless a certain yield is specified, this one is a 500lb JDAM maybe. And they're still in heavy use because they turn a cheap dumb bomb into a precision bomb, the JDAM kit is some nifty shit. Can we stop talking about JDAMs like they're one kind of bomb. If they were Chinese designed I...100% Believe that it would lose all thrusting power and slam into a hospital.Well ackshually, as others mentioned earlier Hamas does have a few bigger rockets:
Hamas Firing China-Designed, Syria-Made M-302 Rockets: Israel
https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/m...igned-syria-made-m-302-rockets-israel-n152461
tl;dr Hamas has a limited number (tens?) of larger rockets variously known as the M-302, Khaibar-1, or R160 with a payload of 150 kg and range of about 100 km. Israel's intercepted Iranian shipments of these rockets in the past which they think were meant to be smuggled into Gaza via tunnels.
This still doesn't explain the JDAM sound, timing of the Hamas rocket breakup vs. explosion, radical change in apparent velocity, roof-knocking Israeli rockets observed prior to the attack, IDF social media scrambling, and large explosion (150 kg/330 lbs is on the lower end of the warhead estimates I've seen).
The Barcelona video is at least a year old (if not more) and has nothing to do with the current protests.Barcelona
It's these goddamned Chinese causing worldwide mayhem again...If they were Chinese designed I...100% Believe that it would lose all thrusting power and slam into a hospital.
I would believe that the Chinese put in a kill switch and there was a Chink Jerking off as he shut it off above a hospital.
I mean, they are a bunch of boot licking Commie Bugmen, would you put it past them to sell bad missiles or purposefully slam one into a hospital so he can cum? It's these goddamned Chinese causing worldwide mayhem again...
