this is one of the writers, btw
really makes you have the big thunk about the complexes she has......

Is it an actual Wolverine game or the new Wyomanverine?
Sadly it's the new Wolverine game they're making for PS5, so we already know that most, if not all the female characters in the game are going to look like MJ (fugly af) and they will certainly take at least one canon hetero character and make them a lesbian like they did with Black Cat, and there will undoubtedly be at least one tranny character in the game, and I'm sure there will be at least one side quest where you help out a gay couple because #currentyear. *sigh*

I think the absolute worst part of this whole abomination is that MJ was an ultra attractive model And today they feed us this "modern day interpretation" of the character that makes us long for a plastic shopping bag & a roll of duct tape.

Remember when all of Spider-Man's girlfriends were ridiculously hot? I do.

That female hairstyle present in many 80's fictions (including japanese ones like City Hunter) will always be hot and fluffy and nobody can tell me otherwise.
80's She-Hulk was my childhood fictional crush because of said hairstyle too.

Also the modern treatment of Spiderman annoys me because Peter Parker had a great character development. He used to be a nerd who dreamed of landing a babe (like all boys) but completely lacked the character of presence to pull it off. After obviously getting bitten off by that radioactive spider and gaining super-powers, he almost went off the deep end until his uncle died, who told Peter in his dying breath "With great power comes great responsibility" thus putting a limiter on his skills.

To do right by the man who raised him, Peter proceeded to use his power for good rather than using it to satisfy his own ego, becoming the friendly neighborhood Spider-man that everybody gets to know as a result. With his knowledge, super-powers and the anonymity behind the mask, he began to make quips against foes and criminals he fought against, to deal with his grief and crippling insecurity. Along the way he started getting better, being a lot more confident in how he spoke, acted, walked and developed his own sense of natural charisma through all the experience he gained by night patrols and crime-fighting. He developed a great body progressively too.

All these physical and social gains transferred right back over into his real world self, and as one's own social status goes up actively or passively, others take notice. As a result of these personal changes, and his overall appreciation of self-worth and character that he can be a good person who does great things, this ultimately attracted the eyes of two beauties: Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson, the unicorns of female unicorns, but plenty of female characters attracted to his charm too (hence the joke of "Bitches love Spiderman"). And all of this was possible thanks to Uncle Ben who set him down the right path in his dying breath, as the ultimate wingman.

Yeah, Spiderman landed a 10/10 woman but the dude earned it through many trials (and errors) and sufferings.
It was basically a tale that modern writers and secondaries nowadays struggle to understand because they only look at the superficial level.

Edit: I would add that MJ went through character development too. She started off as the college party girl but later got influenced by Peter's improved behavior to act selfless for the good of others (becoming the wingwoman of Gwen Stacy/Peter Parker even when she started to crush on Peter).

Didn't Aunt May set him up on his date with MJ?

Not that it matters, I too love classic Spidey and pre-death Ultimate version. Its a real shame how they insist on portraying Spiderman in media these days. I think a core part of the character is his loneliness, even if large parts of the world don't like Spiderman he's always out there trying to do good. And he's uniquely good because of it, with his weird powers and realistic personal life. Adding in additional Spider-people takes away from that. Also Spider-totem, etc.
