What Video caused you to stop watching a Youtuber?

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
The video was re-recommended to me today and I realize I'm a retard: the title I remember was in the thumbnail image itself.

Still, though.
I hate it when YouTubers do that. I'm certain there's some algorithm reason for doing it, but it makes finding/understanding video content needlessly difficult (but nobody cares about good/practical design on the internet in current year).
Aydin Paladin

Oh, ok. Nevermind
Lol.

Yeah I've gotten stuck in the algorithm too, I watched a couple Scotty Kilmer videos about cars/automotive shit [that's basically all he makes, videos bitching about cars with clickbait titles] and decided "this guy is full of shit and doesn't know what he's talking about" but because I watched two or three of his videos he is forever in my recommended feed.

YouTube's search function has gotten more and more useless over time as well, half the time when I search for something I get results that have dick-all to do with my search query and shit I've already watched. If you do a search for any kind of crime content all you get is thirty-five second clips from news stations that tell you absolutely nothing you didn't already know.
When you check out a channel and don't like the video, disliking it seems to prevent this issue. Tbh, I dislike videos that I don't even feel strongly about for the same reason.

80-90% of TF creators. Reasons are either;
1. They become faggy by showing their personal shit and air out their dirty laundry via drama
2. They suck the tranny HRT tit. Or the become the tranny.
3. They do anything else but what their channel description says. Keyan dosen't animate TFA season 4 anymore is a good example. I don't care about your fan series, do both if you don't wanna let it go. At this point, I give most of their channels 5-7 years of steady profit. You can't rely on regurgitated material for very long. Unless you can try to double-dip. That's all I'll say.

Edit: and pet YouTube channels once the owner tries to take up the spotlight.

They do it to game the youtube algorithm. And when they change both the title and thumbnail a few days to even a week after uploading, good fucking luck remembering if it's something you've watched or not when it gets recommended to you again.

I will be the put the channel Aztrosist, I used to watch him but I got bored. But I saw his video in my recommended feed and turns out he troon out.

Used to watch this guy in like, late 2016 and 2017. Actually made decent content back then but haven't bothered with him in a long time, he fell off hard very quickly. I think he deleted like half his videos from back then.

My heart skipped a beat for a second, because I mistook the name for a Dark Souls 3 channel that I watched back in the day. Glad to see that's not the case. Though, it did remind me of Sinclair Lore, which was a Bloodborne-centric lore channel with a host who trooned out, so you've made me sad any way.

What is it with the YouTube-to-Trans Pipeline?

Used to watch bigclivedotcom until he gradually started to insert more and more hints and mannerisms regarding his homosexuality, to the point of it becoming obnoxiously distracting. All I want to see is a damn electronics teardown with a mildly entertaining explanation, is it that much to ask?

Many such cases. This is the result of terminally online idiots encouraging each other to form their entire identities around which group of people they like to fuck in which hole. This shit used to be considered TMI and deviant to share about yourself publicly and I long for those good times.

Never touched politics except talking about German weapon laws, then does a virtue signal about the Ukraine war. OK, it's a contentious issue, everyone has their own opinion. Agree or disagree, whatever, but then he went full German. Gleefully admits he will delete any comments that don't agree with him. Lots of comments saying please don't get political, him replying for them to leave. Anyone who disagrees with him about this complex situation is a Putin lover, or a bot.
There is a channel called it's Boris or life of Boris or something that did something similar. It's a guy in Russia who did Slav meme videos aimed at a western audience, mostly cringe but some of them were alright. Went full retard at the start of the conflict and put out a video about how much he hated Russia and Slava Ukulaili etc etc

Yeh, kys retard. Nothing more pathetic and loathsome than a self hating Russian. Never mind the fact that no one wants political takes out of a meme channel.

Excessive uploading of shorts. I mainly watch with Roku-type devices, so uBlock, etc. aren't really an option to hide them.
YT finally seems to have gotten the message and is keeping them out of my feed, but I was merciless with the unsubsribe button for a good long while.

Click those 3 dots on the side of the video in the recommendations and click "Don't recommend channel"
What happens if it's a channel I'm subbed to? Because the same fucking video I've already watched is in my feed every single time!

Then choose "Not Interested" it will give you two choices, "I've already watched the video" and "I don't like the video"

Honestly, this is a gripe I have with people I sub to. I see that they have a new upload, I get interested and the notification spoils that it's a short.

I get it makes money but ngl, I fucking hate shorts.
Just as much as I hate YouTube autosubscribing me to random people as well as recommending me random ass shit from literally whos with 5 views or something.

I generally don't mind shorts myself, as a couple of people I follow are reposting their content from the Chinese spyware ap. The videos that really piss me off are the rec feeds from fb. I keep getting spammed with mums with bubs or relationshit drama, which is maddening. And occasional pro troon shit too. I'm a member of maybe two communities that aren't selling, collecting, or rat, and I can't figure out why this shit keeps ending up on my feed.

I hear tell, it might be connected to your Google searches and what you do online.

I think the general FB feed is also super annoying.
I get all kinds of shit that don't pertain to my groups at all. Warhammer stuff, Marvel stuff, those cringe memes from old kids' cartoons stuff, celebrity gossip, and whatnot.

It's hella deceptive because they pepper it in with the stuff you're there for and it makes you wonder when and how you joined these random groups. Only to find out that you didn't.

I don't touch the videos with a ten-foot pole. Especially if the rec system is just ass.

Thank fuck, I use Facebook once in a blue moon.

I hate YT Shorts for reasons people here have already touched on, but another thing I fucking despise about them is the fact that a lot of older [pre-Shorts launch by a LONG time] videos on the platform that are under thirty seconds in duration either got manually converted to Shorts by the uploader, or YouTube just decided to make said video a short without asking first. I wouldn't know which is true as I have no accounts with videos under that duration. But it's pretty fucking annoying to look for a funny shorter video you remember and find that it's been forcibly converted to the Shorts format and now, instead of being able to loop it, pause it, speed it up/etc it just plays through automatically and shunts you off to the next fucking short which is probably totally unrelated to what you were looking for in the first place.

I know they're trying to replicate TikTok and that it probably makes them money but it'd be dope if we could just opt out of that shit altogether. I don't want to see Shorts, I don't want Shorts in my results, etc. Who in the fuck asked for a video player with LESS playback options? That's all Shorts is, the 'infinite scrolling' concept brought to video streaming with no fucking playback options other than mute/sound. Likewise with the fucking 'graphic/sensitive content warning' box that pops up on certain videos, why can you not opt out of this? When you have one of these said videos in a playlist, it gives you about 0.04 seconds to click the 'I understand and agree' box before you're shunted off to the next video in the playlist, and some of them have a habit of kicking you back to the fucking homepage and you can't even watch it. I know I'm not the only one having this issue because the comment sections of said videos are full of people bitching about the same thing. Why the fuck can't I go into my account preferences and click an option that says "I am not a kid or a whiny little bitch, I am fine with watching videos wherein people fucking die." and never see it again? I eventually ended up having to install and modify user scripts via Tampermonkey to actually be able to watch these fucking videos because YouTube insists on updating their website to be less functional and user friendly with every revision.

The faggots at Google also insist upon escalating the adblock arms race, knowing full well that the makers of extensions and developers of Brave/etc will immediately begin trying to find a workaround. Probably hoping to get people to buy YT Premium instead, but people doing that will only encourage further escalation on Google's part. I've been using YouTube since roughly 2006 and I cannot think of a single fucking time that I saw a new update from the site that made me say "wow, this is much better and more functional, better looking, etc than the previous revision." Just fucking leave shit alone. They're constantly fucking with shit for absolutely no good reason. Just as soon as you get used to the new layout/style they fucking change it again.
