A lot of these "conventions" are fringe tranny otherkin freakshows, also, I think most of them don't even research who Billy is or go through his work. And Billy can put on an act in public, as his ass kissing of a transman in NZ has proven.

Honestly, truscum politics are even more fringe than tucute politics. You can easily find the latter regurgitated at universities across the globe, but good luck finding anyone prominent express support for gatekeeping without being cast into oblivion.

You can't just write off LGBT groups that feature people you don't agree with as "fringe tranny otherkin freakshows." Furthermore, although it is unlikely that the people who feature Labelle read through his every Facebook post, it is nonsensical to presume that they haven't taken the initiative to take a glance at his comics to get a general sense at what he believes. Labelle's ideals are the natural outgrowth of any ideology that states that you can change your sex based on your feelings, and they are ideals that rake him in $27,000 Patreon dollars a year, let him speak at schools and convetions, and allow him to sell his merchandise.

And what's with that out-of-context "Yeah" on the cover? Oh wait, I know exactly what that is: The cover art is just a repurposed panel from the comic. Look, I get that drawing new art for the cover is a pain in the ass, especially when your cover is just colored cardstock, but couldn't you at least Photoshop out the word bubble? It's probably just a matter of turning off the "Word bubbles" layer in PS or Illustrator or whatever. It's a nitpick, but that's the kind of polish that separates professional-looking comics from insane personal manifestos.

I can think of a couple reasons:
  1. It would be a victory for truscum. Knowing the root cause of gender dysphoria would make it easier for clinics to filter out people who aren't actually trans, and if it became common knowledge, it would encourage gatekeeping in social communities. Bad news for folks who insist on the credibility of "gender euphoria".
  2. It may lead to people investigating alternative treatments for gender dysphoria that do not involve SRS. This might be where the out-of-left-field eugenics comparison comes from, I've seen people do similar with autism and other mental conditions. But honestly, if it turns out that it works, there's very little drawback towards giving people the option to pursue it.

If you can choose to be a tranny like you choose your fashion then it doesn't make you special. The only reason people have sympathy for you fucks is because they believe you're simply trying to cope with a severe mental illness in the best way that you can. That's the only reason anyone cares to give you special rights. That's the only reason anyone entertains your preferred pronouns. Do you honestly think anyone would give a shit about you otherwise? You're basically just genderkin at this point. You know who cares about otherkin, apart from other otherkin? FUCKING NOBODY.

You know what's sad about this? I'm pretty sure Sophie does have gender dysphoria. At least that's the impression that I get from her more autobiographical comics. I think the reason she won't admit to it is because she doesn't want to be associated with truscum. She's a coward.
